How come that crack reporter did not ask her what difference it would make to SEIU memebers since they are exempt from the public option?

They may decide to take the public option, fishergirlusmc. After all, they have health insurance, but would probably enjoy paying lower premiums for better coverage. I know I would. Or, maybe they like their current insurance, and are hopeful that the public option will force premiums lower for them as well. As Americans, we should all be keenly interested in this reform effort.

I've actually been wondering why the SEIU is involved in this too since union contracts usually include health insurance. But then I have health insurance too and I favor a public option.

Ms. Burger must be aware of the study that shows that Medicare costs have risen less steeply than private insurance costs. She also must realize that most of her members are not rich, and not powerful, and therefore have to watch costs closely. And I am glad that SEIU realizes that nearly 20% of the population doesn't have health care but still gets sick. And to think, she is one of the evil people that Glenn Beck is trying to paint as the root of all evil. But, insurance companies and multimillionaires are the real ones concerned with the average working stiff. Yeah, right. In a pig's eye.

Whenever I think of how those insurance company executives, in their boardrooms, endlessly discussing how they can expand coverage and lower premiums for all, tears well up in my eyes. They sacrifice so much for us!

Everyone should go to their local country club and hug the closest insurance executive.
