Who cares what the 25%-ers that make up Fox News core viewership thinks. They're beyond hope anyway. No point in arguing or recognizing them.

I'm more concerned that the propaganda has managed to get 45% overall to believe it.

If cable news had not existed, this lie would not have been propagated.

Good choice of words, propaganda is correct. The Soviets called it disinformation.

If you analogigize news broadcasting to teaching, as in educating the public on current events, then FOX would be considered a total failure. FOX viewers are consistently misinformed yet FOX stays in business. It's absolutely freakin' amazing how FOX is able to do this. There really are two Americas...the one populated by people who live in reality, and the other one, the FOX Nation, which is an alternate universe that bears little resemblance to reality. It's creepy, actually, to think about it.

Ah, depends upon what you're trying to teach.

If you want to teach reality, Fox is an abject failure. If you want to teach dogma, they're extremely successful. I think there's something buried in there about people who are prone to be gullible, or more easily persuaded, as a result of their backgrounds.

I think the key words in the above statement were: Fox News viewers . . .

Wasn't there a study a few years ago showing Fox News viewers as being the least informed of all cable news audiences? If that's the case, then this isn't at all surprising.

I'm OK with better informed. Education describes one's past, but informed describes one's present. I know people with GED's who are extremely well informed.

BTW: Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Dean Kamen (inventor of numerous medical devices as well as the Segway and IBOT wheelchair) did not graduate from college.

There was also a analysis done which concluded that a majority of Fox viewers were convinced that Iraq participated in the 9-11 attacks. If I were a FOX viewer and realized I have been repeatedly lied to, I would be quite angry, but just look at FOX Viewers......they don't even turn the channel enough to become informed that they are being lied to. Even if they did, I seriously don't believe it would make them angry to find out the truth. They seem so wrapped up in the belief of conspiracies and being victimized by the evil socialist government, there is no chaning their minds. I think it is time to simply marginalize them. The Senate needs to pass the Health Care Reform package with a public option without Blue dogs or Republicans. Marginalize these vandals and rub it in heir faces when they take advantage of the option.

In other words, IGNORE the reich wing and force change down their throats. Let them pi$$ and moan. Their concerns have NO basis in reality.

Now that we have an exyensive history of poll taking, I would like to submit pollsters have a pretty good idea what phone numbers are related to answers and probably have them color coded to red and blue, and sonme other collor related to independent thinking answers. It would make it easy to program the computer that calls these numbers to bias the collection of calls, depending on what the human wants to prove.

That makes perfect sense and I can't blame the viewers for it. FOX has been beating that drum 24/7 for a month or so and even the other major news networks have given it enough creedence that if they occassinally flip over from FOX there's a good chance they haven't heard anything that would change their beliefs.
