Listening to this stuff bends my mind. The other day, I flipped on the radio, and Hannity was coming on the air. That, I don't know what to call him, actually played the opening cords to the Crosby, Stills song Four Dead In Ohio.

Those of you not old enough to know the words, or those of you who are old enough but don't remember, for whatever reason :), here are the lyrics

      Tin soldiers and Nixon coming
      We're finally on our own
This Summer I hear the drumming
      Four dead in Ohio

      Gotta get down to it
      Soldiers are cutting us down
Should have been done long ago.

They are trying to convince people that the administration and Congress is at war with the people who elected them.

      This is sickening

So the right wingnuts, who claim that they supported the War In Vietnam, now use one of the most anti-war songs of the period to sell whatever it is they're pushing today. How desperate.

Not to quibble, but it was a song by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, with Neil writing the song and singing the lead.

It may be desperate -- but sadly, nothing new.

Remember how Ronnie Raygun utilized Bruce Springteen's Born In The USA for his reelection in '84? He apparently didn't realize the album title and most of the album's lyrics were an indictment of Raygun's policies toward the poor/middle class . . .

Oh, and don't get me started on the number of sixties and seventies songs that have been used in commercials as jingles to sell a product . . .

I know. They are one of my all time favorite groups. I always just refer to them as Crosby, Stills.

Mine too, but I usually refer to them as Neil Young's other backup band after Crazy Horse.

And please, keep ranting. The problem today is we don't have enough people with legitimate anger. Just the birthers, deathers, teabaggers and astroturfers who are angry but for all of the wrong reasons.

and they are too stupid to really know what they are angry about. the conservative pundits/media basically tell them what to be angry about, and these people go out like robots and do what they are told. they dont know any better, so they have to follow the leader... i guess that would be the beck's, limbaugh's and hannity's of the world.

seriously, if that is what this country has come down to (following a bunch of moronic media pundits) then we are in BIG trouble. i mean, i love watching keith olbermann, chris matthews, ed schultz and msnbc, but i always take what they say with a grain of salt. its the political media for god sakes... sometimes its just good entertainment. but those people listen to beck, limbaugh and hannity like they have real legitimate insight.

I guess Insanity doesn't realize, the analogy would only work if Obama sent an armed invasion force into an American city. I've not heard of that happening.

I think Seannie Poo has THE WRONG ADMINISTRATION in mind . . .

        CHAPTER VII
        A Mad Tea-Party
There was a Mad Tea Party Bus in front of Sean Hannity's studio, and the March Hare and the Hatter were having tea at it: Glen Beck was sitting between them, fast asleep, and the other two were using the Constitution as a cushion, resting their elbows on it, and talking over its head. `Very uncomfortable for the Constitution,' thought Faux News' Bream; `only, as it's asleep, I suppose it doesn't mind.'

The Mad Tea Party Express was a large bus, but the three were all crowded together at one corner of it: `No room! No room for any health care reform!' they cried out when they saw a sick person coming.

`There's plenty of room!' said the progressive caucus indignantly, and realized it was easier to talk to a dining room table than the loons of the Mad Tea Party.

"`At any rate I'll never go there again!' said Bream as she picked her way through the wood. `It's the stupidest tea-party I ever was at in all my life!' "

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Bream remarked.

`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.'

`How do you know I'm mad?' said Bream.

`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

I am afraid that I'm beginning to rant here, but I am really angry.

A putz like Hannity, who was what, eight or nine years old during the anti-war protests, intimating that these teabaggers have anything in common with what went on during Vietnam is ludicrous. Several of the guys that I grew up with had their lives and or their health runied. They were not fortunate enough to have friends in high places that could keep them out of the serivce, like Limbaugh did,or in his case, it would be low places.
Or unlike our 44th President who managed to get into the National
Guard. And later, even have that record "lost".

If this is the coming 'revolution' count me out.

And Hannity, who "supports the troops" through his incredibly self-serving, self-promotional BS "Freedom Concerts," was too young to serve in Vietnam- but not too young to serve in the military at any time after his 18th birthday. Oddly enough, Sean never found himself down at the recruiting station, eager to sign on to become part of the Band of Heroes he expresses so much admiration for. He's a smarmy, cowardly little hypocrite who told Charles Grodin he'd be waterboarded to raise money for the troops- and then quickly forgot this promise.

Maybe someone should tell Sean that he could sell Hannity's America T-shirts at the waterboarding event, and that Toby Keith could "sing" beforehand.

Also, not to quibble, but Obama is the 44th President. George W Bush was the 43rd, who "managed to get into the National Guard" and then didn't show up where he was supposed to.

Who kept our 42nd president out of the service? And I wasn't aware that Obama had served in the NG, which branch? I had thought that he had other things to do instead of military service.

We're getting the "Tea"-word now; how long before Fox News starts pushing the "I" (Impeachment) word? After all, Obama is anything ranging from an illegal immigrant destroying America As We Know It, to a radical Leftist Marxist Socialistic Communist.

Again why is Fox considered part of the press corp and allowed any access to the WH?

The moment they sponsored the first one of these Tea Party event they should have been removed from the press room and escorted out of the White House.
