This is really a no brainer...

Every American should have a living will. One of the questions should be very simple, and one that really cuts to the chase:

          1. When I start sounding like Cal Thomas, is it time to pull the plug?

Sean is so "disgusting" and my, my, my when Judy Miller see the light from this latest Republican Talking Point (from former Gov. Sarah Palin and other Republicans) along with Bob Beckel, there must be "change" in opposition coming for the HealthCare Reform Bill. LOL

Btw, we sure hope FoxNews Channel pays Mr. Beckel ALOT of money to sit there as Sean spew out his 'nasty', 'made-up' "LIES" about President Obama, an American President and the Democrats. Just saying... LOL

Ooh, Beckel, a Fox liberal, got a wee bit feisty and Hannity looked like he was going to have a coronary. Don't worry, Sean, it doesn't happen often. Criticize Palin? You must hate her children! Hannity is pathetic but still a cut above Beck. Oh, and liked how Cal Thomas just had to try to turn the subject into an OT referendum on evolution. "Evolving from slime" is exactly what I think of when I think of you, Thomas, except without the evolved part.

the first primeval Vogons crawled out of the sea, the forces of evolution were so disgusted with them that they never allowed them to evolve again. Through sheer obstinacy, though, the Vogons survived (partly by adapting a misplaced, badly malformed, and dyspeptic liver into a brain).

        Replace Vogons with Neocons......

Sean knows full well that this "Death Book" was produced 2 years ago during the Bush administration by Republicans. It is disgusting that he and all of the other Reps are saying that its Obama's and not Bush's book. Next they'll dig up some old book by Hitler and say that Obama wrote it.

Its funny how Sean defends Palin. Beckel criticizes her and the Sean immediately jumps to how he'll attack her kids next. Sean doesn't debate with him saying why he's wrong, he uses her kids as a shield....just like she does. Because if you attack her...you're attacking her kids and the troops.

Just wait, pretty soon it won't be "Living Wills" that the right wing objects to, it will be Wills, period.

"The Democrats, with their allies the Trial Lawyers, are now arguing that old people should make WILLS! That EVERYONE should have a plan for what happens to their PROPERTY when they DIE!

SEE? Democrats are harassing people to just DIE! And they want their wishes to be put on PAPER and WITNESSED by a NOTARY PUBLIC and put on file with a LAWYER like JOHN EDWARDS!! They are just SCARING PEOPLE all the time with their 'Death' talk! They want you to die!"

But then when they debate shifts to the ESTATE TAX, it will all be about peoples wishes, and doing what the want to with their property when they die!

(And the real absurdity here is that the COMPLEXITY of ESTATE TAX LAW is one of the biggest reasons people need EoL counseling in the first place! (They need to know how to handle their estate so they don;t get screwed!) So either the republicans are betraying their traditinal stance of minimizing the estate tax, or they're admitting that it actually doesn't affect many of the people that will get this counseling! Either way, they're whole argument on that is shot! Al becuase the think they have to oppose EVERYTHING, even things they were in favor of one day before the democrats put it into the legislation!

Mabe the conservatives(republicans)think everyone should do like them when it is your time to die, refuse to do so.But I don't want to want to be a dead talking,no thinking zombie like those who profess their strong beliefs in the conservative(republicans) religion.Dead is dead, everyone would be better off if the dead conservative(republicans) crawled back into their graves.

In 1990 Congress passed, and President George H. W. Bush signed, the Patient Self-Determination Act (PSDA). That act “encourages everyone to decide now about the types and extent of medical care they want to accept or refuse if they become unable to make those decisions due to illness.” The PSDA requires all health-care agencies to recognize the living will and durable power of attorney for health care.

In 2003, under the Republican administration of George W. Bush, “the Agency for Health care Research & Quality issued a 20-page report outlining a five-part process for patients to discuss end-of-life care with their physicians.” But who would pay for such a discussion? Medicare doesn’t cover it.

-This is a quote but I've misplaced the source. My apologies.

When governor of Texas, Mr. Bush's son signed a law that gave hospitals considerable latitude in the amount of treatment they were required to provide for terminally-ill patients. Perhaps he didn't understand it - but he sure did sign it.

      It's explained here:

I'm not sure how Cal Thomas can make the connection between those who believe in Evolution inherently believe that life is less valuable than those who believe in Creation.

Some one should remind him of The Clergy Letter Project. As of last count there were nearly 12,000 clergy who support and believe that evolution and religion are NOT mutually exclusive.
