At no point in the interview did Megyn Kelly ask Specter if he has read "Your Life, Your Choices." According to an August 25 Washington Post report:

Specter said in an interview yesterday that he had not read the booklet but was disturbed by what he had gleaned thus far. "I heard an inference that people might be inappropriately influenced to withhold medical treatment," he said.

I have a theme song for Specter, and all those being untruthful about health coverage reform. Anyone remember the BeeGees?

      Verse 1:

      G Bm
      I started a lie
      C D G Bm C
Which started the whole world dying
      D G Bm C
      But I didn't see
      D [1, 4: G Bm C D ; 2, 3: G]
That the lie would kill me, oh no

      Verse 2:

      I started to die
Which started the whole world hoping
      Oh, if I'd only seen
That the joke was on me

      Chorus:

      Em Bm
      I looked at reports
      C G
Looking for things I could distort
      Bm Em
And I fell off my chair
      /D Am
      Breaking my hold
      D [N.C.]
      On lies that I'd told

      Verse 3:

      'Til I finally died
Which started the whole world living
Oh, if I'd only seen [4: oh, yeah]
That the joke was on me

      [repeat chorus]

      [repeat verse 3]

      Coda:

      (D) G Bm C D
That the joke was on me
      G Bm C D G [end cold]
      Oh...

Way to go fair and unbalanced! Once again they fail to mention that this was a book written 2 years ago when Bush was in office.

I thought it was actually written in 1990? Or somewhere quite some time ago. It's been out and circulating for awhile now, and continued to do so during Bush's tenure in office.

I mean, it offers for end of life planning. Why is this a big deal? Why not be prepared for when the end comes, or is approaching? And better to do it the younger you are.

According to Specter, we apparently need to "protect our veterans". My question is what are we teaching them in the military that makes them so unable to fend for themselves once they're released back into society?

And where was all this concern over the "death book" during the past 12 years? Were previous generations of vets not so easily talked into killing themselves?

I must be missing something, 'cause there's no way something as inane as this appears to be would be a part of our news cycle.
