        Yep, the same ACLU that defends and protects the Constitution of the United States, which goes to show why conservatives don't like the ACLU, they must not really believe in the Constitution.

          If it weren't for that meddling Constitution, the GOP , Weiner and the rest of the henchmen could probably get away with destroying this country the way they really want to.

          They pretty much hate the constitution as it'w written, bcasue it ACTUALLY LIMITS govenments power. Conservtaives talk a good game when it comes to "limited gov't" but it's all shullbit. They only really want to limit the power of the Democrats, and want to be able to do whatever they want. (Erase seperation of church & state, prhit gay marriage, force women to bear shildren, suppress speech, control press through the corprations taht support them, spy on people, incarcerate people, torture people - they really don't give a fig about human/civil rights at all.) Their rhetoric and positions betray any principals they claim to have. The ACLU, OTOH, IS pricipled to a tee: it defends conservatives who use their free speech to critices it. And it defends religious expression every bit as much as they fight to protect people from religious demagogery. (And yes, I can absolutely back that up.)

          The ACLU is the single most american organization in exsistance. That conservtaives can't see this is a shame, and it shows that they really don't mean what they say when they claim to want a "limited government." They just want aboslute power. That's pretty clear to any objective observer.

            NGE: These right wing nutz apparently never heard of the Articles of Confederation.

            This nation tried a weak central government. It didn't work very well. After just a few years we tossed it in favor of the Constitution.

        Hannity hosted his first talk radio show in 1989 at the volunteer college station at UC Santa Barbara, KCSB-FM, while working as a general contractor... Hannity's weekly show on KCSB was canceled after less than a year by station managers upset with his remarks about gays and lesbians. This was after two shows featuring the book The AIDS Coverup: The Real and Alarming Facts about AIDS by Gene Antonio; among other remarks, Hannity told a lesbian caller "I feel sorry for your child". The station later reversed its decision to dismiss Hannity due in part to a campaign conducted by the Santa Barbara Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union.

          Indeed, it is. And the thing about the ACLU, is that, they will CONTINUE to help these folks who hate them, regardless of how they might personally feel about these folks like Hannity. Why? Because it's the laws of our nation that take precedence.

      If Savage really wanted to ask questions of the ALCU or Media Matters, he could do so. But, like Limbaugh & Beck, he's a hateful coward cowering in a studio behind a spittle-flecked mic. The caller says "Thank you, Michael, for all you do." But Savage doesn't do anything except endorse hatred.

      Which is right-wing radio show host code for... "Boy, wouldn't it be great if one of my more nuttier listeners would actually go and shoot up the ACLU (or any other liberal, cause or otherwise), so that I get what I want and then still be able to distance myself from that nut-ball all the while laughing at the dumb-ass that actually took me serious enough to actually shoot up the ACLU or any liberal cause or whatever!"

      I can only hope that this opinion is NOT close to the truth, but I fear it is not!

      Once again savage demands unquestioned obedience to all military and police authorty without any legal experts looking to see if laws are being broken by those in positions of authority.

      all groups who want to know what the facts are to keep everything in check are foreign communist agents trying to destroy america and should be arrested, deported, tortured or whatever.


      because as we all know, if those who disagree with savage and others ever organize that is a thoughtcrime within itself, and a plot to destroy america.

      if people cant see who the real fascists are after listening to this kook then we are all in a lot of trouble.
