You mean like the right is with death panels, nuclear options, comparing Obama to Hitler, claiming the country is being destroyed, scaring old folks, questioning the president's place of birth, tea parties, rent-a-mob shouting matches? Now those are distractions.

No they arent those are perfectly legitimate random words and ideas to spill out of the mouths of desperate people with nothing to say and air time to kill.

A distraction requires something thought out in advance and seeing as how if a GOP talking says something monday he'll say the opposite tuesday they have no forethought.

In fairness to Hannity, it's reasonable to think that Obama is attempting to distract the public's attention, based on the premise that the appointment of the investigation of alleged CIA torture, and the appointment of the fed chairman during a major recession are somehow more important than people yelling at town halls and Obama's 6-month-old predictions.

Yikes! Mangled that post up good.
A good lesson here - always finish a thought before turning your attention to something else, and most importantly, proofread.

Oh, and I might also have included that Hannity is a seditious traitor who demonstrably has portrayed violent action against the president by superimposing blood spatters over his image. But then, I might be accused of distracting folks from the current topic.

Sheer "Hot Air" InSannity doesn't understand the concept of an independent Attorney General. President Obama has stated on several occasions he wants to look forward and move forward.

However, Attorney General Holder has decided this must be done. President Obama respects that.

Clearly, this is over InSannity's head.

No, Obama is not. Apparently, Hannity believes that this investigation will be conducted like Whitewater was, meaning, loudly, and in front of the media as much as possible. I would hope that the prosecutor picked to investigate will conduct this investigation quietly, and completely, and announce his findings as soon as they are available. In other words, here's hoping he's no Ken Starr (media whore).

What is distracting about holding people accountable for laws that they potentially broke Sean?

The problem is, if Holder pursues this, his designated prosecutor will end up asking uncomfortable questions off people like Rove, Rumsfeld, Cheney, Rice, and Bush. Rather than deal with the fact that his heroes are torturers, Mr. Hannity is instead attempting to denigrate the investigation before it even begins. He is trying to shift the focus away from torture, and over to political expediency which is something we know both sides indulge in.

A good attempt, Mr. Hannity, but it is unlikely to trick anyone with a functioning mind.

      Again...the right is projecting...

Like when the terror alert was raised whenever there was bad news for Bush.

If President Obama is deflecting, at least it isn't with a phony terror alert system that was designed to scare the American people.

At least this distraction (if it is purposeful) is a legitimate investigation of criminal acts. Perhaps the real story is that the Republicans and Dick Cheney, should be thankful that the Health Care debate is distracting from what would be a center stage investigation not unlike the Iran-Contra investigation.

As always, Hannity turns the truth into some strange form of pretzel logic.

Sort of reminds me about how congressional republicans, during Clinton's second term, said he was "wagging the dog" striking targets in Afghanistan to distract from his impeachment.

How wrong they were then. How wrong they are now.

Distract American people by investigating a TORTURE INVESTIGATION?

Well Sean, we all know Cheney ordered the torture, what they will be investigating is WHO diverted from the acceptable torture, as outlined by John Woo . .

Anyone think Hannity will be covering the 'degrees of torture' not followed by Woo's outline?

Anyone think Hannity will be covering the ex-military private contractor torture policies?

      There's a very nice bridge in Brooklyn . .

Obama and Bill Ayers are also trying to distract us by creating dangerous flu germs in his secret ACORN underground Muslim lab in which he plans to force Sean Hannity to work on 9/11 on the socialistic National Service Day. Never fear tho: Sean's on top of all this.

I noticed since President Obama took office, Vannity stopped using the term "war-time President". Did our troops return from Iraq and Afghanistan already, Sean? Vannity spent years referring to Dumbya as a "war-time President" and said the Democrats were undermining America for criticizing Bush "in a time of war". Suddenly the wars are over, Sean?

Does not matter.. We have signed treaty's that say WE MUST INVESTIGATE WAR CRIMES.. If we don't then another country has the right to convict.. And if we follow the law.. It is NOT an Obama Issue.. IT is a Legal issue out of his hands..
        Laws were broken.. Please read

The way Hannity stays on top of things that aren't media dictated, he seems to prove that he is a puppet for a stronger voice. Is there more to the torture thing. In true fairness, because this occured, it would be wise to look at ourselves as a nation when dealing with other ethnic beings other than Americans because of the way we have handle them in the past during war time, ie. the Rosenbergs, the suspects in the Lindberg baby kidnapping and murder, and Muslim Americans at the time of war and trials of individual here in the United States that professed to be muslim. Is there a potential for prejudice and do you care? This man and men like him are destroying the integrity of America, elaborately.

When do the oil profits start paying for the war? Mr. Wolfowitz? Are you there?

It is okay for the right to raise questions and "distract" the public with reporting false information, but when legitimate government business pops up, it is a distratcion... I guess America should put the world on hold until health care reform is hammered out.

Remember during the election debates when Obama when asked what they would deal with first? McCain listed off his priorities, while Obama stated he would tackle all problems at once...

I guess it doesn't work out for Fox News when health care falsehoods are giving you good ratings. Torture is such a downer, and seriously, are you going to argue for torture???

I believe the torture issue is in the news right now because documents was released per court order. The ACLU sued to force the CIA to give up the results of an internal investigation from 2004. They won. A judge set the date for release, not Obama. It's funny how, when you don't really care about empirical fact, you can imagine all kinds of theories.

Well, OF COURSE he is, Sean.

But, figure it this way; it COULD be worse: he could be trying to distract us with Whitewater, Filegate, Travelgate, Vincent Foster, Paula Jones, Kathleen Willey, Monica Lewinsky . . .
