Yet, their speech is not being away whatsoever. More paranoid delusions from the two biggest anti-American losers on cable.

yes it is, see in their world their right to free speech includes your right to have to agree with it. If all these liberals could just accept this basic fact that these men are above judgement and disagreement the world would be a much better place.....

Right?? How many times does it have to be pointed out that disagreeing with someone, calling for a boycott of them, even "hating" them (verbally, that is), is also free speech???

I find this soooooo funny because here you have Bill O- the same guy who got the rapper Ludacris FIRED from his job promoting Pepsi. Why? because of his lyrics! Bill O called for a boycott of Pepsi products and the company dropped Luda

Oh yeah crazy guy calls the President a racist, tells his fans "we surround them" and to "Take America back.." is freedom of speech.

BUT a black guy rapping about doing the nasty with a big booty girl will be the down fall of America!!!!!!!!!!!! HE MUST BE STOPPED

Excellent point. I would love to hear "fair"-liberal defend this. How is going after Glenn Beck's advertisers an attack on free speech, but going after Ludacris' advertisers is an admirable battle in his war against secular ways?

Don't forget all the other O'Reilly boycotts, like anything made in France because the French dared to not send troops to help our Iraq War, or the boycotts of every department store who said "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas". O'Reilly has called for a boycott of any film with Sean Penn. O'Reilly even threatened a boycott of Canada because the CBC ran a negative story about him.

O'Reilly even made up publications to tout how successful those boycotts were.

O'Reilly is the king of right-wing boycotts, yet now they are a restriction of free speech rights?

These guys are petrified that Obama will, with justification, somehow effectively nullify their unlimited license to use the airwaves to spread divisive lies for political purposes. They should be afraid.

Does anybody else get the feeling Bill-O really doesn't like Beck? That the jabs are less than "in jest"?

My favorite part: Beck READING QUOTES from Jones. "Here's what he said, which you should be appalled by!" Actually Glenn, I'm appalled by what YOU said. That's the entire point of this. Loon.

This is how the right works...you make outrageous claims based on writings on the stall walls, you make things up to support your claims, or you distort and misrepresent the facts. Then when people call you out on it you throw up the first amendment as a shield and say that your freedom of speech is being trampled on.

So, in Beck's case, freedom of speech for him but none for anyone else.

That picture of Beck really is disturbing...I almost feel sorry for him. I imagine that's how he will look when he has his big meltdown on his show and they quickly cut away to a commercial (if they have any sponsors)...and then Glenn will take a long "vacation".

So Ward Churchill deserves to be fired for calling people in the World Trade Center "Little Eichman's" because according to Bill that's hate speech, but Beck calling the President a "Racist" and being called on it limits free speech.

What happened to the rule where you can't be critical of a President during War Time? That rule of O'Reilly's go out the window once the Republicans left office.

These guys remind me of 1968 Wallace Democrats - angry, bitter, blaming, and racist.

I don't think I like Beck. I don't have cable or satellite so I don't get to watch FOX. All I know is that Van Jones is doing nothing different than the Republicans would do if the shoe were on the other foot. Personally, I don't like making advertisers accountable for programming unless it is highly objectionable. Beck called Obama a racist. Big deal. Doesn't seem much different than when a famous rapper said "George Bush doesn't care about black people". It's politics. Besides, the race card has been overplayed where everyone is calling everybody else a racist.

And Kanye West got a lot of heat for what he said about Bush. Though the evidence in the following weeks was evidence he was probably right.

Except that, Van Jones isn't doing anything at all in this case.

It is actually different, because a rapper is, well, a rapper. Glenn Beck, as we're so often reminded, is a highly rated TV news person. Who do you think garners more credibility?

The only folks on the TV I see calling anyone a racist, or on radio, are the right wingers calling anyone from the left, a racist. Up to, and including our black president, and the first latina Supreme Court Justice.

No dumb ass ... it is not the same...

Glenn Beck has a nationally syndicated show on TV AND radio 5 days a week... Kanye West does not!

Glenn Beck has a forum where he can continuously spew his garbage 5 days a week on TV AND radio... Kanye West does not!

Other than that one moment in time when Kanye West spoke his mind the way he did against Junior, have you seen much of him since? NO! you have not... but the same can't be said about Beck, who we see nightly being highlighted in here because of what he says and does on TV and radio 5 days a week!!

So no... not the same by a long shot!!

In Kanye West's case or the Dixie Chicks' case they are the product. They're hurting only their own sales if people don't like what they say. Beck has a responsibility to his advertisers and the advertisers have a responsability to their investors. If they think he will hurt their sales they're going to walk. It's all about the free market and the bottom line. You would think the right would understand that.

Is it me or do Fox hosts spend an usual amount of time interviewing one another?
It's very odd since they have their own shows. Are they filling time because it's hard to find guests?

yeah youre right. cavuto, beck, (megyn) kelly, geraldo, etc. are all on the factor a lot. beck and kelly, i think, are the only ones that have at least a weekly segment. obviously, since billo's show is the most popular, he brings on these people to give them extra air time. god for bid he brings on people from another network... and this is the guy that claims he loves to debate and bring on opposing point of views, and his typical guests are typical foxbots.

dont you just love how bill-o claims that the oreilly factor boycott by think progress "failed miserably", but doesnt mention how successful the beck boycott has been? he knows 36 advertisers are gone, but he doesnt want to humiliate his little whiny buddy. in fact, he doesnt even give a hint about how the boycott has done. he knows if he lies about it, he is in trouble, and if he tells the truth, it is even more embarrassing to admit. i love to see bill-o squirm in those situations.

what difference does it make anyway? no matter how much fox news gets boycotted, bill-o and his ilk will continue to rationalize their popularity and bring up their super, duper huge ratings.

      Hey Glenn,

It's not about freedom of speech. Last time I looked, there were no laws made saying that you couldn't say whatever it is you like.

How about taking the personal responsibility angle for when you said something totally incorrect, and irresponsible about the President of the United States, saying he didn't like white people, and that he was a racist? I mean, that's just one thing you've said, and I'm sure there are others that advertisers don't want to be associated with you about.

For the record, Van jones had nothing to do with this, it's all your fault Glenn. Dial back your stoopid, and this probably wouldn't have happened.

Well, technically there are SLANDER and LIBEL laws... so you can't say ANYthing you want to. . . without the possibility of being sued. (So, technically, it would be a Civil, not Criminal, case)

      Fellow Matterers,

I may have figured out why Bill O'Reilly, and Glenn Beck are popular. Fox Soap. Over-dramatic, the gossip-meister's clog the air-waves, sure the fear will be heeded. Is there an hour, so late at night, that my remote can not find? This Fox Soap infomercial superficially claims not to care, about subjects, that comment on the actor(s), yet they present evidence, in a skewed presentation meant to defame.

To be fair, the actors represent their views and the views of the network. Score one for rancorous diatribe. Stone shower, anyone? Fox Soap will certainly will wash anything outside its box.

      Addsum,
      Ronin Kannushi.
