Well there goes what respect I had left for Sen. McCain (after he nominated Palin).

I'd respect him if he was against healthcare, but agreeing to something that isnt true and is used to scare veterans especally as a veteran himself is just downright dishonest.

As if we didn't already realize it, thank God this guy didn't become president.

I'm afraid right here he's shown exactly why he had no chance of becoming president...

Sadly, he's become a tool, veering towards becoming a fool, disgracing his legacy. Sadly, the so-called "maverick" has completely sold out. The media trot him out like a prize pony now and then and put words into his mouth.

You know, this is the kind of talk I've come to expect out of the right, but then most of them never bothered serving their country when called.

But when it comes from a man like this, one who actually served, then I know just how much beyond redemption this party has become. Instead of standing up to the lies meant to scare his fellow veterans, this sad excuse for a man wraps himself in those lies and abandons his fellow vets.

        Shameful, just shameful.

Why do these guys continue to compare us to other countries? Even though not one law has been proposed that provides for the things of which they claim they are afraid, they assert that they are afraid, essentially, becuase (they think) Democrats do not share their American values...that Democrats WOULD institute death panels, etc. if given the opportunity. Where the hell did they get the notion that Democrats are not actual Americans, with American values? Perhaps it's because they have long demonized Democrats to win elections. And perhaps the dishonesty of FOX News helped just a little bit, too.

On the same day as Senator Kennedy's death John McCain spews this garbage?
This is the same guy that told an Evil joke about Chelsea Clinton when she was just 12 years old.
This is the same man that ran out on his first wife when she was disfigured from a car accident.
This is the same Hero that by just being in the wrong place at the wrong time almost sunk an Aircraft Carrier.
This is the same Alpha Hotel that has been on a Single Payer Health Care Plan since he was 18 Freaking years old.

Here's to you John McCain America's "Hypocrite in Chief"

Yea, but having been a POW gives you a free pass among Republicans. You can be the biggest jerk in the world but, by God, IF you served your country all is forgiven. Hell, Sean Hannity still defends those military guys in Iraq who murdered innocent civilians in cold blood. Why, to even correctly recount what they did is un-American, according to Hannity. Right wing Republicans don't like truth or reality...just the flag and country music.

Only if you're running as an R. I seem to recall some guys named Max Cleland and John Kerry were treated a bit differently in spite of their war records.

Of course if you're a war hero and a Democrat...well there's a reason why John Kerry is not on his second term.

Agree with everything you said Bad, with the exception of McCain being on a Single Payer Health Care Plan since he was 18 Freaking years old.

He was the son of a navy admiral and on a Single Payer Health Care Plan since birth.

That's why we're not going to be in a Depression. Back in 1929, we had to wait three years to get a Democrat to fix the republican mess. This time we were able to start the repairing of the country less than six months after the financial collapse. It's going to be fixed, republicans will see their lifestyle improve like the rest of the American people and still will turn on Obama.

Like someone else said, if we didn't know back then, isn't it great that McCain didn't make it to the Presidency.

During his campaign, he lied so many times about Senator Obama/President Obama. It is so good to come to a comments section of an article and find some seriously intelligent people. Thanks everyone.

Well he continues to spread the lies about "other countries" and their healthCare systems.Canadian/British citizens/elected officials have called out those that lied about the Care actually received by citizens. The US obstructionists keep lying about it and should have no credibilty on the subject...but aslong as there is a Fox News they will get to lie and lie about it John McCain should know better!!!

Here's an idea. Let's read the booklet:

      http://www.rihlp.org/pubs/Your_life_your_choices.pdf

That took about 25 seconds on Google.

I think a more subtle point is being missed here. Both McCain and Hannity advance the false claim that President Bush removed this booklet from the VA, and President Obama brought it back. This is a complete falsehood, as MMfA has proven. President Bush's administration did revise VA handbook 1004.2, but it said the same thing about 'Your Life, Your Choices' as it currently does. President Bush made 'Your Life, Your Choices' publicly available, including it's mention in the VA Handbook 1004.2.

These little lies add up, and become 'truth' if allowed to persist.

He's only saying that because he got booed at his own town hall when he began to say that Obama was a sensible guy who respected the constitution. He wants the base to love him again. They embraced him during the election because they had to since Romney and Huckabee under cut each others votes. But the base of the republican party has never like anyone who is willing to bend a little on those core values they like to hold everyone else to. I still have respect for the man. I just disagree with his strategy to win the favor of the lunatics in the party.
