Bush or Boehner or Beck or any other righty sheds a tear and their great patriots. Anyone on the left sheds one and they're effeminate. Except the women.

          How rich.
First of all, being effeminate does not make you less of a man.
          Lefty men are sexy.

You forget, many righties are also sexist. It's the biggest crime a man can commit against nature to not be a manly man who sucks in his gut just enough to hug his semi-automatic against it.

So your standard for being a man is to have never cried, right?

Only a sorry excuse for a man goes though life without tears.

Har ! No kidding, mjh. I don't know if he's using it in the "teddy bear" sense, or as the gay code for big hairy guys, but it is a very cutesy name for somebody trying to pull off the manly act.

And I'm not sure how Boss Hogg is connecting making fun of a man for crying with suggesting that the man was forced by a memo to attend. Is he an sensitive, emotional admirer, or a programmed robot?

Oh, that's right, it's the Rush show, where nothing has to make sense.

I went to a town hall, I went to my Congressman's website and found out when it was happening, I made arrangements to go and I went. There were some union people there and so was MoveOn.org but I went because I lived in the district. I was up at 6:30 this morning and the line to see Senator Kennedy was well down the block, hundreds of people showed up to say goodbye. I know why you are so bilious and vitriolic, you are jealous that when you die, no one will say anything nice and not many will show up for your funeral.

Why is it that in Rush's world every Union member is a "thug"? He constantly refers to "Union thugs" when speaking about Union members. Of course Rush can't say the word "Enviromentalist" without the word "Wacko" following right behind it. In his tiny little mind everything is black and white. Union members and enviromentalists are bad in his view--ergo he always has to add some pejorative word attached to it.
I also find it interesting that Rush thinks that people are being "forced" to go to Kennedy's funeral. As if no one would go unless they were cajoled into doing so. But when people showed up at Reagan's funeral this was proof to Rush how much the American people loved old Ronnie. If it is for a conservative it is heartfelt---if it is for a liberal it is all fake. What a moron!

I watched both the Nixon and Reagan funerals on TV. I was never a fan of either man or their policies, but they were Presidents of the United States, and as such deserve a measure of respect. I also visited the Nixon Library to see an exhibit. I was shocked to find myself there, but I do have to say, it was executed with great taste, and offered a unique glimpse of the man, and I would recommend it others. I almost wish that Senator Kennedy was having his funeral in D.C. I might have attempted to go to say goodbye. Just this summer, I visited his mother Rose's church, St. Stephen's in the North End of Boston, it is just across from the Paul Revere statue and very lovely, even though it has been restored to its original, Yankee Protestant style of decore, rather than the elaborately painted Catholic style that Rose knew in her lifetime. Teddy was a great Senator even if he wasn't always the best of men.

        "Chicago thug"
        "Islamic terrorist"
        "Environmentalist Wacko"

It's ridiculous to mock people for daring to show emotion in a public sphere, that being said it cannot become a common occurrence with silly antics (re: Beck).
Let's remember those who screwed up the country. The cold, calculating, stoics that were the Bush Administration.
You'd think a change would be good. It's silly that one would be deemed inelligible for President if they show emotion (re: Hillary).

It is an amazing feature of this country now. My wife got into a conversation witha friend of hers from church and this person is convinced she is going to be put in a home and die if the healthcare bill is passed. Why does the population allow themselves to be bamboozled by those who probably don't even have a complete basic education is way beyond me.

I truly believe in collective prayer. Even if it only brings some comfort. I feel for all of you. The past three years I've lost my Mom & Dad & my third brother to die. My brother was 62, my other brothers were only 29 and 34. It is just difficult to know a loved one is ill. I will keep her in my prayers ....imagine that a God fearing Lefty? ha
