If I didn't know any better I would swear the right was exploiting Kennedy's death for political gain. Good thing they pre emptively accused Democrats of that.

NOW they won't pass it because Kennedy's dead?

Heck, they weren't going to vote for whatever comes out anyway, regardless. Which is why we, the democrats, need to "man up" so to speak, and just do it, without the republicans.

They were never going to be for it, or for anything Obama wants to do anyway, so why even ask at this point in time.

Agreed. Screw the repubs and pass it. We've got the votes in the house, just strong arm the blue dogs like republicans strong armed republicans in extended hour sessions to get the votes. Do every single thing republicans did, and smile while doing it. We're gonna be accused of it anyways.

This is just the latest lame excuse from the Right on health reform:

      It's socialism!
      It's communism!
      It's fascism!
The government will tell my doctor what to do!
The government will decide what drugs I can have!
      It will kill your granny!
      It will kill the veterans!
Oh no! Senator Kennedy is DEAD! And we were THAT close to reaching a bipartisan agreement. Oh well. Guess it's just too late.

Let's get busy pressuring the Democrats into voting along party lines and passing this much needed reform. The Republicans have taken themselves out of the debate, climbed on the magical mystery bus of NO!, and are too busy touring the country and lying to the American people to bother with actually helping run the government.

You're right. The Republicans have NO interest in bipartisanship. We need to ignore them and pass health care -- and virtually everything else -- despite their opposition. If/when the Dems pass effective health care reform, the Republicans will be screwed. That issue alone will do more than anything else to shut them down. Wingnuttery has become SOP for the GOP, and it's impossible to negotiate with an extremist, so we shouldn't even waste our time. Maybe we'll be lucky and somehow the wingnuts will once again become a fringe group, but I don't know; they have enough money to scream their lies for a long, long time.
