I have heard similar prayers for social justice at Masses in my lifetime. I have heard prayers read for help in immigration laws, for lawmakers, and for people in uniform. Caring for the sick or the impaired is the work of the church, it was also the work of Teddy's lifetime, so I have no problem with the intercession, I do however, have a great problem with this ugly man telling me that I should be offended for caring for the least of God's people, because whatever is done for them is done for Christ. May God forgive you, Mr. Davis for your ignorance and hate.

Screw'em. I hope he's goes to hell. He can "fill-in" for any number of other right-wing scumbags that'll end up there with him.

I can laugh with you, but I really do believe that God is forgiving, and some us need it a lot more than others, and he and Rush are a couple of the some. Now, maybe he won't seek forgiveness, that's a very different story.

It is indeed, because it would require an admission that he's sinned. Wouldn't it?

Yes, it would, and from what I can tell about this guy, he isn't inclined to follow a religion, and objects to others following one, too. For my own belief, I think that God will forgive anything if asked, if you deny the God and that forgiveness, it is an especially bad sin.

I'm 50/50 on this one. Should the prayers of the faithful be politicized? Not really. Could that kid have worded it differently? Yeah.

But at the same time, if we took that clip in it's entirety (and not just an extract - I'm not so much crying "context" BTW), it probably wouldn't have been as big of an issue as Mark Davis made it out to be.

And on another note, weren't these the same people who went ballistic when someone deviated from the RWTP about the Palin children?

He spent 40yrs. in politics. His family is political to ignore it would be a travesty. Politics was a major part of his life.

Before the kids started speaking, the lady said they will read Ted's own words followed by the prayer thingy. So, these are his own words, not something they made up to politicize.

The intercession in the Prayer of the Faithful were taken from Sen. Kennedy's speeches. That was announced by the celebrant.

Where is Rush Limbaugh today? He sure takes a lot of days off. Hope he's not sick from losing 90 pounds in 4 months. That can't be healthy.

As I've stated before, there's a minor leagues of hate radio, and when someone like this a**hat gets called up to the bigs he has to be full-on crazy in order to get noticed.

What an idiot! Catholic Bishops endorse universal health care! A truly appropriate intercession!

"-- The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops
USCCB Position on Health Care Reform

-a truly universal health policy with respect for human life and dignity
-access for all with a special concern for the poor and inclusion of legal immigrants
-pursuing the common good and preserving pluralism including freedom of conscience and variety of options
-restraining costs and applying them equitably across the spectrum of payers "

Davis: Hijacking the Intercessions. You just. Don't. Do. That.

Davis is strict, that's for sure!! On the other hand, as far as waterboarding or threatening to use a power drill on a detainee's head, Davis is more easy-going.

I love when idiots like Davis, Beck et al spew their nutzie views and then claim they're being neutral or unbiased. So a grandchild honoring his Grandad's lifelong work is 'hijacking'. What do you want? People to vet funeral services through you and Rush? So what, you can insert a long diatribe about Chappaquidick?
Davis, you dare to say you have revulsion. I'm having trouble listening to you without an airsick bag.
