There's a place in hell for you and almost all of Fixed Noise people.
As much as they rail against health care reform, I doubt that . . .
Hmmm... sounds like they support the ADA.
Same aid and comfort crap..
What happened to him? On FSTV I saw him many times rail on the Bush admin. for crimes in Iraq.. Who is paying him? Another book in the works..?? He said DEMOCRATS WERE TRAITORS..
If a contributor on an actual news network said as much absolute horse stuff as Scheuer has on Fox, he or she would have been canned.
If you are going to let someone get away with saying the administration is "pro-terrorist", then you should no longer be allowed to ever say "fair & balanced" ...
Outing a covert CIA agent - Republicans
Tasking unqualified CIA agents to conduct "interrogations" (i.e. torture) - Republicans.
Looks like this clown is wrong. Republicans 2, Democrats 0.
Well -- let's hope they've also gotten used to a Republican administration that likes to out its agents for political retaliation . . .
Wouldn't that be more closely descriptive of someone who was openly wishing for bin Laden to kill American citizens?
Ronny Raygun is now considered a Democrat?
The traitor is you Mr. Scheuer
How the hell can someone accuse any administration of being pro-terrorist or of hating the CIA? These are sre serious accusations....irresponsible, too. Whom do you suppose terrorsts are laughing at?
Randy
The Cartoon Network has more credibility than Fox so I'm not sure I see the problem.
First off, he didn't plead for an attack on the US. He said it would take a suitcase nuke for the US to respond in what he believes to be the correct fashion to terrorism. Hyperbole sure, but far from wishing it to happen. Second, he has been just as critical about Republican administrations responses (or lack thereof) to a terrorist threat. I saw him speak about a year ago and he torched everyone about it. In fact, this was around election time and he was asked who the best candidate is on this issue. He simply replied 'neither' and said that no candidate could get elected if they were to take the 'proper' response.
I'm not defending Fox here, nor do I think his comments are exactly sound. Now, you may disagree with his theories; I personally think that his idea of a response would make things incredibly bad in the short term. But he isn't a fringe lunatic, he teaches a graduate level course on Al-Queada at Georgetown and has been one of -if not the only- person to cut to the chase about Bin Laden and his motives. Hell, Bin Laden himself said
"If you want to understand what's going on and if you would like to get to know some of the reasons for your losing the war against us, then read the book of Michael Scheuer in this regard."
In short, while it is fun to prod Fox, saying things like he 'publicly ple(d)' for an attack only add fuel to the fire. Read the books or at least the Wikipedia page before jumping to conclusions.
-Hostage crisis in Iran = 0 Americans dead (Jimmy Carter)
-Marine Barracks in Beirut = 241 Americans dead (Ronald Reagan)
-Pan Am 103 = 250 Americans dead (George H W Bush)
-JAN 1993 thru JAN 2001 = less than 100 Americans dead, including military personel, at the hands of Islamic terrorists
-Right Wing American Tim McVeigh = 168 Americans dead (Bill Clinton)
-9/11 = over 3,000 Americans dead (George W Bush)
-Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan = Over 6,000 American military members dead (George W Bush)
If you look at the numbers, Democrats have a better track record keeping Americans safe than Republicans do. In fact, right wingers seem to be a bigger threat to Americans than Islamic terrorists when Democrats head the Executive Branch.
Mikey's saying the CIA has "grown used to " DEMOCRATIC administrations . . .
The CIA was chartered in 1947 -- in the 62 years since, how many democratic administrations have they gotten used to?
Not counting the current one, a grand total of FIVE:
- Truman
- JFK
- LBJ
- Carter
- Clinton
Other than Truman, the only one of those who served two terms was Clinton . . . overall, out of the past 62 years before the '08 election, Republicans have been in the WH for 36 of those years.
Hell, I'd say they've gotten more used to the GOP than the Dems . . .
