It was an intercessory prayer. The child was praying a prayer in Kennedy's stead. The child read his grandfather's words. Health care for all was Kennedy's lifelong crusade. Made perfect sense.

But to Laura and the hatemongers, you've gotta start on the next wave of Kennedy politicians while they're young. Or they just might grow up to be a senator and maybe even president!!!

Wow! A three-fer! Criticizing a child, a funeral mass, and the extremely Christ-like drive for universal healthcare in one dickish flourish. Way to go, Laura!

My personal favorite was FoxNews & Malkin going after the 11 year old that dared to ask Obama a question at the townhall he hosted before his vacation.

Real classy over there @ Fox News and the Malkin dark hole that is her soul ...

People haven't been connecting Ted Kennedy to the need for health care reform until now? Is the joking? This has been going on for months.

Fox et al trying to convert his life & death into something else hoping that they can minimize his memory to the point where it will not interfere with their other efforts to lie and misinform people regarding health care reform.

speaking of politicising, notice the new found courage by the GOP leadership after Kennedy's death. they are now openly saying they will never support the " Obama bill " led by Grassley ( R-IA). Isn't that a coincidence today they started toi share their true plans.

It has been pretty obvious that they will never support it, because politically it's better for them not to. It's amazing how the right-wingers constantly complain about Democrats "politicizing" everything, while they are second to none when it comes to it.

Bill Maher suggested the other day that Obama should just do like Dick Cheney did with the occupation of Iraq. When asked by some journalist about the polls that showed that a majority of the American people opposed the occupation, his response was... "So?"

This health care reform is generally supported by most or many. Obama needs to stop trying to please the lunatics on the right, and just say "So?" when they say they won't support it. Threaten some of the "Blue Dog" democrats and push this thing through, WITH a public option, already. It's the right thing to do. Have the Republicans EVER supported any of the reforms that made this country better and better? No, of course not. They've never done it before, and they won't do it this time either. Forget 'em, and move on.

Well, she gets to be a mother without bothering some poor guy. The kids will be well-provided for, at least. But I can't say I would find her a warm and loving mother.

What do you expect? This woman has taught her adopted child to run around the house trashing Democrats and thinks that it's "cute."

I knew, as soon as I heard the prayers of the smallest children, that the idiots on Fox and on talk radio were going to attack the children. It makes me want to puke. The kids were interceding for their Grandfather and they were praying HIS prayers. Teddy Kennedy has fought for health care reform his entire life, why the heck wouldn't it be one of the intercessory prayers he requested

It was his grandfather. He can say what ever he likes at the funeral and no one outside the family has a right to complain about it.

I am not surprised that Ms. Ingraham and the other critics of this young man failed to comment about the wonderful Gospel reading from Matthew that was used in this Mass. To do so would force them to face the obvious contradiction between their words and actions, in not only the healthcare debate, but in their entire anti-Christian social agenda. I suppose they could try to accuse Jesus Christ of "politicizing" the funeral!
