And only Beck is here... on national television... to warn us that our free speech rights are gone.

Stop praying Beck; you're giving it a bad name.

I sincerely think that we need to go back to the days of licensing people before they're allowed to broadcast (FCC license). I also believe that there should be some basic testing to determine if the broadcaster is of sound mind.

Actually, LOCAL broadcasters (WXYZ, KUVW or whatever) are licensed for broadcasting. The syndicators who provide Limbaugh, Beck, etc. are not subject to any licensing, as (IIRC) are cable channels (they don't use the public airwaves).
To oppose anyone, you have to send a polite letter to the actual station that carries the syndicated programs, they have to keep it in their Public File (it's required that they also occasionally mention the PF, and keep ALL comments). You can go to the office of the station and request to see the Public File (e.g. to see if they kept your letter) and contact the FCC if they are not keeping it properly.

I worked in broadcast radio 1977-2008, and took Broadcast Law in college.
keywords: public interest, convenience and necessity.

"I pray every night for more time..."

I seriously doubt that, Becky. Every night you're looking at your bank account balance and you're absolutely giddy that you're getting paid that much money to do what you do.

"An even is coming, and they will use that event to seize power..." Wow, deja vu.

They already "seized" power by winning an election Glenn. Game is over.

And do you really think that if in your deluded world view that Obama raised a civilian army, that first of all, he wouldn't be impeached, and trounced from office? And second of all, we have the National Guard, and US Military to protect us from such a thing happening.

Glenn is bucking for someone to take out Obama. Why else would he be feeding the hate machine?

I don't know if he'd be impeached: The last 15 years has firmly established that the one and only impeachable offense for a president is lying about illicit nookie.

Much more seriously, however, I completely agree that Beck is trying to get the president we duly elected killed.

The right wing crazies are playing a very dangerous game and if something happens to the President they'll be in for a rude awakening.

Correct. Maybe I should start a pool as to when one of the pistol packin' teabaggers on marching orders from hate radio takes a pot shot at Obama.

Yep...in my observation and opinion Glenn Beck wants President Barack Obama dead. I think it's time to be open about this...

'game over'--well thats very good of you tell the 60,000,000 who didnt vote for BHO that we might as well pack our bags and leave the country to the likes of Van Jones.

I did see the video of Van Jones saying that 'we' (USA) are killing migrant workers with chemicals. Why do they keep coming here then?

Actually, only 59,934,814 voted for McCain/Palin, but close enough.

Nobody said pack your bags, and leave the country. Fight for what you believe in by all means. Nobody is saying don't do that. But do you honestly think that a duly elected president of this country is trying to take it over completely with a civilian military force that hasn't even been formed yet?

Here's the thing chief, we ARE killing migrant workers with pesticides. Why do they keep coming here? Because that's the only way some of them can support their families, and you know, feed their kids and all.

And just to repeat, Van Jones has no power or anything like that. He's an adviser to Obama on matters of green power generation, and other "green" topics. He has no control over, well, anything. So unless he all of a sudden became President, you don't have anything to fear from Van Jones with his capitalist and entrepeneurial ideas.

Actually, MORE than 60,000,000 people DID NOT vote for Obama. Which is what angryofmayfair61 actually posted. The didn't say that's how many people voted for McCain/Palin. Sorry

Nader / Gonzalez Independent (736,804 votes)
Barr / Root Libertarian (524,524 votes)
Baldwin / Castle Constitution (196,461 votes)
McKinney / Clemente Green (161,195 votes)
Others - total (see below) (226,908 votes)
            1,845,892(total other votes)
            + 59,934,814(McCain/Palin)
= 61,780,706 votes NOT for Obama

Interesting, the National Guard is referred to as 'citizen soldiers', so where's the wingnut condemnation?

(Like the regular military aren't citizens? That leads us to Robert A. Heinlein's Starship Troopers - the book, not the movie)

"Something wicked this way comes..." is exactly right! The wicked event that is coming is Glennie's little teabagging session on the 12th! He is trying to take over with his Conservo-Fascists militias that are out there shaking in their combat boots. We had an election, the people spoke and the Liberals won. Just sit back and get used to it. I sat there and took all manner of Conservative garbage for 28 years of my life, it won't hurt him to sit back and take it for the next four (hopefully eight.)

Glenn, what you just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent statement were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in the room is now dumber for having listened to it.

I stole that from a movie, but it seemed appropriate.
