I mean, Glenn didn't, and look where it got him?

A bunch of money, and large bowl of crazy.

But seriously, the President calling for kids to stay in school is going to be spun by this chucklehead as something bad?

And again, the Beck world, Obama can do no right. I mean, Obama could run into a burning building, rescue 5 people from getting killed, and Beck would want to know WHY Obama didn't put out the fire.

Exactly, and it's really tragic and sad.

The POTUS, brings a message of get educated, stay in school, and Beck makes it out to be "indoctrination". Something tells me, Beck should have stayed in school himself, because that home schooling didn't do him any favors.

Why would anyone suspect the President of trying to indoctrinate children when his website asks for supporters to call their congressmen and say:

‘All 50 States are coordinating in this – as we fight back against our own Right-Wing Domestic Terrorists who are subverting the American Democratic Process, whipped to a frenzy by their Fox Propaganda Network ceaselessly re-seizing power for their treacherous leaders’

I don’t think I want my kids to be told that anyone availing themselves of free speech is now a ‘domestic terrorist’.

The Heritage Foundation claims it was a deleted post on MyBarackObama.com asking all their supporters to call their Senators and demand a public insurance plan. The bit angryofmayfair61 quoted is simply part of the alleged copy text.

I'm not sure how that's untruthful, though.

Actually, I'll take any President of this country making a speech to kids about doing well in school, trying to get good grades, and staying in school. I don't care who it is. It's one of those themes and subjects that you would think, everyone could get on board with.

So, what about 1991, when President Bush addressed all public school students on TV, brog? Representative Dick Gephardt did point out that President Bush should not have used Dept. of Ed. funds for what he called a campaign ad, but nobody suggested keeping their kids home. Nobody suggested President Bush was trying to indoctrinate schoolkids.

Are you truly unaware of how monumentally different the treatment is for this adminstration by the press than any previous administration in the country's history?

Well when my son graduated from the 6th grade a couple of years ago all the kids during the ceramony where given a letter from the White House signed by GWB- its as a cheesy standard "Congratulations and I applaud your dedication to learning" cute little piece of paper that was probably giving to millions of kids across the country.

So its ok for Bush to reach out to school kids BUT when Obama does it he is building an army of pimple faced tweens? Oh give me a break

That mother was exactly the reason I left teaching! I can quite imagine the snotty little brat she raised! I remember going out and picking up trash along the roadside in front of the school on the first Earth Day. We had no gloves or hats or safety vests, but cleaning up the environment was what President Nixon said to do, so we did it, and girls had to wear dresses in those days....and there were no permission forms, either. Glenn Beck hates society and is doing everything he can to indoctrinate his listeners into his brand of spoiled, mean behavior. He makes it very clear that he has his and he doesn't care about whether you can get yours or not, you will not get any help from him and he wants you to feel free to behave in such an anti-social manner, because concern for your fellow human is SOCIALISM!

Are these parents afraid that one talk by the President will indoctrinate and permanently harm their children? If that's legitimate, then their offspring must have inherited their parents diminished brain power. Why not let your children hear the President's words...and if you disgree with what Obama said then explain that to your children?

They used to talk about Bush Derangement Syndrome...but that was nothing compared to the pathological and irrational hatred these people have for Barack Obama. I have a feeling this is not going to end well.

I just found this website. Actually, it does cross the line in my opinion. It encourages the children to help and support the president. Why would they need to do that if they are simply being told that "education is good"? I don't think indoctrination is typically the work of Captain Obvious, folks. Basically, I don't want my own children to have faith in "policy", but respect for authority is necessary to life on many levels. As for education, sometimes public education is more public (like next Tuesday), and less education.

I thank the Juedeo-Christian God every day for The Great Glenn Beck, after all, he's protecting us from such radicals as these:

      * If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.
o Thomas Jefferson, Letter to Colonel Charles Yancey (January 6, 1816).

      * Bigotry is the disease of ignorance, of morbid minds; enthusiasm of the free and buoyant. Education & free discussion are the antidotes of both.
o Thomas Jefferson, Letter to John Adams (August 1, 1816).
      * Ignorance is preferable to error, and he is less remote from the truth who believes nothing than he who believes what is wrong.
o Thomas Jefferson, Notes on the State of Virginia (1781-1785), Query 6.

      John Adams
      * The science of government it is my duty to study, more than all other sciences; the arts of legislation and administration and negotiation ought to take the place of, indeed exclude, in a manner, all other arts. I must study politics and war, that our sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy. Our sons ought to study mathematics and philosophy, geography, natural history and naval architecture, navigation, commerce and agriculture in order to give their children a right to study painting, poetry, music, architecture, statuary, tapestry and porcelain.
o Letter to Abigail Adams (1780-05-12)
      James Madison
      * A popular Government without popular information, or the means of acquiring it, is but a Prologue to a Farce or a Tragedy, or perhaps both. Knowledge will forever govern ignorance: And a people who mean to be their own Governors, must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives.

funny thing about that quote. he made in reference to the war of 1812. the context of it was that basically the country needed a war every so often that would bring the nation together.

the idea was not a new one. in fact he took it from his favorite historical period. the roman empire.

this is the most ignorant group of people i've ever had the displeasure to read from. the problem is he is speaking to a group of youth that has no political opinion, and is to be spoken to by the teachers, a pro dominantly liberal group, about his new senses. the problem, is that they will be spoken to by people they look to as those that give them knowledge, so obviously, they will agree to whatever they say.

Obama indeed knows this, and is explaining this to them so that in 10 years when they begin to vote, he will have a whole new generation of liberals with ideals implanted by him; obviously in his benefit.

If he wants to inform students of his plans, it should be done at home with their PARENTS to help explain to them what is happening, not their teachers. i can't believe that this many people would neglect the real message behind this. although, then again i can, because that is how he became president in the first place.

The misinformation guys like GB, RL and SH spew just to make their millions is unconscionable. How on Earth do they sleep at night.
