Stigall on Obama school speech: "I didn't say the message was bad," I just don't want Obama to talk to my kid alone

I'd call him a buffoon, but that would insult buffoons.
Got some links to them somewhere?
And, yes, too bad nothing of yours ever gets posted, and yet, here it is. How come every single time someone like you says or writes something along the lines of, "I bet they won't dare to post what I've written because it's not in line with their beliefs." we always get to see it?
Is this like how the NY Times, you're sure, won't cover a certain story because it looks bad for a liberal somewhere, and yet, lo and behold, they always cover said story?
"I don't want them involved in politics!"
"I can't be there to watch it first!"
"Why doesn't he do one in the evening that I can watch with them?" (Not enough complaining about his addresses to the adults already?)
And I really didn't understand it, because:
1. I would've loved to have a special address from the President in school. Little kids go crazy for that.
2. It's not like he can get into their brains when they're wearing their tin foil hats, anyway.
3. Most of them will probably go in to school and whine about it (because of all the stuff they hear their parents say) and ruin it for the kids who want to see and hear it, and once they get home, whether they're excited and enlightened or not, their parents will ruin it all for them.
Oh, now I get it... these kids will all go home with hope and lots of questions, and their parents will have to actually discuss things with them, and this whole thing will burst the bubbles they're trying to shelter them in.
This is a really sad day when you haave Americans saying that they don,t want their children to hear from THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.
Heck even an hour isnt going to change anyones view.
I mean heck if an hour could change someone's views I'd be a extreme right conservative by now, as I listen to what MMFA posts for at least an hour a day.
Wow I never realized all the weak willed children were republicans
I guess from now on whenever I hear a parent complain about how stubborn their kid is and how they never listen to an adult I'll assume the kid and his family are democrats if he's that strong willed....
Maybe Rush should address the kids who aren't allowed to see Obama (how stupid is that, really?). Rush would scare the hell out of the little ones and make them life long Democrats.
And the other thing... this guy has kids? Yikes.
No prob, Chris -- If you prefer, I'm sure Mark Foley will be more than happy to talk to your kid . . .
But no, it's no different than 10 children hanging out with a creepy next door neighbour alone. Not the same at all.
These people have lost all rational thought. They're just a bunch of monkeys braying at the moon now. They've completely lost their minds.
a democratic society? The United States Constitution does not give
the federal government or especially the executive branch of the
federal government the right to determine the curriculum taught in our
local schools. Therefore, I am opposed to the intrusion of President
Obama into the education of my children. The airing of this speech
and the resulting assignments to follow stands in direct opposition to
our parental rights. The Public Education System is to teach
reading, writing and arithmetic not religion or morality. Isn't that
why prayer was removed from school? Or is this just a one way
street? My beliefs and that of my children must not be heard but the
agenda of the Obama camp and his legion of followers have cart blanche?
You can dress Obama's speech any way you like but the truth remains.
Get them young and fill their impressionable minds with your political
philosophy. Regardless of anything President Obama says about "the
importance of education and our students need to work hard and
persevere in order to be successful." It is shamefully self
aggrandizement.
Due to the obvious disregard of the Jenks School District to parental
concerns, I will be keeping both of my children home from school that
day. They also will not participate in any assignments put forth in
response to President Obama's speech. If they are required to read a
book about President Obama and write a report regarding him as our
President, they will not do either. Instead, they will choose a book
about a former President and will complete the assignment in this
way. This is not a study of history but a shameless attempt by our
President to set himself up as a hero in the eyes of our
impressionable children.
Also, there is NOTHING in the lesson plan put out by the Department of Education about reading a book about the President, or writing a paper about him. Some educational, non-governmental websites and groups may be offering different lesson plans, but not the Department of Education. Even, though your children are not required to, I am curious why you oppose your children reading a book about a sitting President? Ever heard of a current events class? The first African- American president is certainly a point of historical importance. Your children can also write critically of the President if they chose to.
Seems simple.
To the students who listen to Barack's speech and take his advice:
Come to Seattle, you'll love it!
To the ones who stay home and miss it:
YOU MISSED IT !
