The right doesn't care how it happens and they're doing everything in their power foment hatred of the President. If something should happen to him those folks are not going to like what happens.

Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity et al are stirring the pot in a very dangerous way.

Funny that they spent 8 years covering for Bush/Cheney and now are picking at everything under the sun.

                    Wow.

According to starkey here, when Pete said, "they're doing everything SHORT of using racial slurs . . ." he REALLY MEANT to say they are . . .

. . . while, when Quinn laughed at a caller's advice that Obama be placed under the care of someone that practices euthanasia, he REALLY DIDN'T want Obama dead.

The mind reading powers of the wingnut on display. Truly wondrous.

Mr. Quinn could have pointed out that what this caller was saying was entirely inappropriate. He could have pointed out that calling for the death of the President, any President, is at the least treasonous.

Instead, he laughed, then went on to the false talking point that the health coverage reform 'puts us all under the care of Kevorkian'. Letting the caller get away with threatening the President's life, Mr. Quinn went on to claim the President was threatening the lives of all Americans, starkcr31.

          This is not acceptable.

Actually, I had to look it up, pete592. According to the info I have, it was a skit produced by Air America that ran on her show without her previous knowledge. Since it did run during her show, though, she did the honorable thing and apologized for it. I also discovered she reached the rank of sergeant in the Air Force as a mechanic. One more liberal who served their country!

The skit was in poor taste, and there was an outcry, and Rhodes did apologize. Sit a Democrat in the Oval Office, and suddenly death threats against our President are a ho-hum, business as usual occurrence. Nothing to see here, move along.

I know I shouldn't expect any kind of class from a guy like Quinn, who lost his radio gig over sexual harassment, the incident which he says is also responsible for his conservative awakening.

Then YOU need to contact the proper authorities and report the crime. If you don't, then you are complicit. If you don't call and report this, then I can only assume you condone the attempt to have our president threatened with his life and would allow it to happen. It's either that or your simply blowing plaid smoke, as usual.

Thanx for nothing..by the way, did you report him? Or would you rather the President be the butt of a joke when it comes to the death of a President?

Same mentality they had when the Iraq War & the economy both went to crap: the first words out their mouth was, "what's YOUR plan??!!" Rightwingnut idiots basically took the wheel of the car, headed off of a cliff, then turned to the back seat to where the progressives were sitting, and asked, "how do YOU propose we stop this thing??"

I wholeheartedly agree, fishergirlusmc. It has much more to do with the office than the man holding it. I had little respect for George Bush as a man, and I disagreed with most of his policies, but he was still my President. In this, I stand with John Wayne: I didn't vote for him, but he's my President, and I hope he does a good job.

Saw the movie... it was actually pretty much realistic in that the whole nation (in the film) was sorry that it happened, because 'libruls' still considered Dubyah as 'The President' even though there were disagreements.

Back in the dim days of the middle of the 20th Century, when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, there was often respect between Liberals and (real) Conservatives. Barry Goldwater WANTED to debate (not 'debate' as in shout down opposition) JFK in 1964, but the Assassination ended that idea.

The movie wasn't an American movie. I think it was made and distributed by a French company.

If it were Americans funding a movie and talking about the assassination of a sitting American president I'd be the first to stand with you condemning the movie.

Let me put it a different way, starkcr31. You are in a bar, and you overhear two guys. One guy tells a very racist joke, reaching it's predictable end. The other guy laughs at the joke. Now, is the second guy, who laughed, a racist or a coward?

I don't see any other options for the second guy. Either he is a racist, and thought the joke was funny, or he is not a racist, but is too afraid to stand up for what he believes and laughed along with the racist who told the joke.

GWB put himself in situations to get himself into discussions. Obama has made a couple of errors during first term but they are minor in comparrison to GWB. Mr. Quinn is local, but he got noticed by Media Matters because he puts himself out there like GWB did, so Mr. Quinn is going to and will get discussed.

Laughter about another man's death is not funny, but I think people knowing how un-intelligent Mr. Quinn is. Now thats funny!

              Tell you what, starkey . . .

              As soon as President Obama

              - ignores 50+ separate warnings of a major terrorist attack on the US
              - responds to a PDB entitled "BIN LADEN DETERMINED TO STRIKE IN US" by going back to barbecuing and brush clearing on his fake ranch
              - continues to sit on his arse with a blank look on his face reading to schoolkids on day of said attack
              - launches two preemptive wars in search of nonexistent WMDs in response, costing the lives of 4000+ US servicepersons
              - Spends $12 billion/month on said wars, attempting to fund them with tax cuts for the wealthy
              - plays air guitar in LA while New Orleans drowns
              - watches the economy, including the budget surplus he inherited, melt down completely
              - lowers US prestige throughout the world

. . . I'll be MORE THAN HAPPY to talk about him like a dog.

              Deal?

Let's talk about that right after we talk about this:
-Spends more in 2 months than any other president in history has spent in their entire term(s).
-ignores people that froze to death in Kentucky.
-Goes back on every single promise he made.
-Goes on apology tours every chance he gets and make us look like p*ssies all over the world, causing North Korea and Iran to do even more missile testing and threat-making.
-Makes the economy worse paying for his own liberal pork projects.

Oddly, even your own trumped-up list doesn't make Obama look as bad as Bush.

I tell you what Starky we will hold your predictions and statements about a president who's opponents think his first year in office was sooooo bad in our minds because if you are right then we will officially know that the world will surely end.

"So the heinous things that the left said about George W, Bush while he was in office (and still today) are ok?" - Starkers

          The true ones certainly are.

Remember, Dubya' was most certainly the WORST President in American history.

Remember, your opinion doesn't equate fact. Obama is shaping up to be far worse than Bush could ever hope to be.

Hm, that sounds like someone's opinion.

              I thought opinion didn't equate fact . . .

Wow, Obama does what the "Marxist" people tell him to do....and conservatives got mad when liberals said that Bush was following Cheney's orders.I guess its all right with the apparent difference between the two presidents. Educated man who can speak and commands an understanding of history, the english language, and worked his way to the top...the guy must just be taking orders. On the other hand a money C student who cannot consistently put intelligent sentences together or remember history, and still has the silver spoon of his daddy in his mouth while his vice president is at a undisclosed location....you are insulting and insane to think someone else is calling some of the shots here.

Well, you gotta remember: Dumbya pronounced himself "The Decider-er."

The wingnuts believed him, and that made it alright.
