      My father told a story about why he quit hunting:

      One day, while walking along in a riverbed, he heard 'whing' sounds overhead. As he continued, the sounds continued.
      Some moron was shooting at the sound of something (my father) moving... just randomly putting bullets in the air to hit something he couldn't see or identify.

      BTW.. my father taught me the correct way to handle a gun, and the proper times to carry and not carry.

        That shooter is the Fox demographic.That's who Huckleberry is talking to here, the people who don't like a bunch of thinking going into their life or death decisions.

        Fox could probably start showing reruns of HeeHaw from the 70s and their audience wouldn't notice.

        As soon as hunting season starts here in Louisiana, I start counting the hunting "accidents"(i.e climbing tree with loaded rifle, shooting at noises). It is appalling the number of people (some children) who are shot and killed by their hunting buddies.

      I always love it when hunters extol the virtues of "managing" wildlife populations. Hunters don't cull the herds, they don't kill the weak animals or the sick animals. They go after the strongest, biggest "Trophies", they undermine the population, not "manage" it.
