Sure it is, and it's the democrats right to cram their agenda down your collective throats because they have the votes to legally do it. But that isn't stopping you people from trying to subvert the constitution and enforce your minority will, is it?

How are conservatives trying to subvert the constitution? Is it the new progressive position that disagreeing with your 'dear leader' is unconstitutional

              * There ought to be limits to freedom.
o News conference (May 21, 1999); also quoted in "Satirical Web Site Poses Political Test", Washington Post (November 29, 1999)

              A Classic Orwell:
              * I just want you to know that, when we talk about war, we're really talking about peace.
o Department of Housing and Urban Development, Washington, D.C. (June 18, 2002)

              Considering later events:
              * I don't know of anybody in my administration who leaked classified information. If somebody did leak classified information, I'd like to know it.
              o Source: October 1, 2003, Suntimes.com (see also July 18, 2005)
              * Sometimes we must fight terror with tyranny. Press Conference (November 7, 2007 press conference, talking about Pakistan)
              * And yes, I'm aware our national security team met on this issue. And I approved.... I told the country we did that. And I also told them it was legal. We had legal opinions that enabled us to do it.
o In an interview regarding his awareness that his top national security advisors had discussed the details of harsh interrogation tactics to be used on detainees (April 11, 2008)
              * Stop throwing the Constitution in my face. It's just a goddamned piece of paper!
o Remarks during an oval office meeting (November 2005), attributed in Doug Thompson (2000-12-10), The Rant: Bush on the Constitution: 'It's just a goddamned piece of paper'," Capitol Hill Blue. Thompson claims to have contacted three unidentified people who attended the meeting for verification. Thompson acknowledges that he has often written reports without authenticating his sources and has ended up retracting many of them, but he stands by this particular report.[101]

OH the sludgy brew these legislators create when special interests have the mortgage on their private parts.

Bending this way and dodging that way so whatever reason, common sense, and integrity is lost to the Health Care Debate...we are forgotten, and at the finish line, we will get a twisted unrecognisable cheap "As Seen on TV" Tool for $19.95 that you use once - maybe twice, before it breaks!

That last flicker of optimism: Hope they prove me wrong...

      AM I PO'D? DUH! :(

Roger Simon was great today on Hardball too, in the same vein. He told Matthews in no uncertain terms that the public option was NOT a liberal thing, the liberal thing was single payer. The public option was rather THE mainstream Democratic position, and it was vital for cost control.

        Matthews response? "Ah, yeah, um..."

That's true and it's not true. Single payer was never really on the table. But it was foolish politically to start with something designed to appease your unappeasable opponants.

O'donnell is dead on. For this administration, there's always room to capitulate on another point. The original movement was for a public option capable of enrolling 40% of the population. So what did Obama do? He proposed a plan that would enroll about 15 million, provides tiered levels of coverage, won't be based on Medicare reimbursement rates and can't even negotiate drug prices. Quite frankly, the Medicare savings should be funneled back into the program to lower the eligibility age and fill in gaps in coverage while creating a public option based on drastic cuts in defense spending.
