All this overreaction by conservatives on talk radio and Fox News will just be swept under the rug and they'll pretend like they never said a word of it.

Nah, the conservatives will just claim "victory" and that Obama had to change his original speech because of their opposition to it. Of course, they'll have no evidence that the speech was changed, but when has that stopped them before really?

This is pretty good. The great part is Olbermann doesn't need to take any of the wingnuts comments out of context, or get them freaking out over other issues. This was the demented response from the right wing mainstream media to the American president giving a stay-in-school and work hard speech to American kids.

Are the certifiably insane really a powerful enough voting bloc that the GOP can rely on them exclusively?

By themselves, no. That's why every two years the GOP panders to the log cabin republicans and all the other RINO's they purposely mock and exclude the rest of the time. Gotta wonder about a group of people so willing to forgive and forget every two years...

great work from the production department, we need more of this from COUNTDOWN, Stewart produces this quality on a Daily basis.
Olberman's rants are getting boring, But his last line comparing Beck to Fr. Coughlin was right on.

The controversy was over when the contents of the president's speech were made public. M2 prolongs the pain, while forgetting congressional dems conducted an investigation and hearings over a similar speech Bush I gave in 1991.

The investigations over Bush by the Dems were sort of petty, but much different than what just happened with the fake uproar over Obama's speech. I don't want to be redundant, check out some other threads on the topic for more detail on the difference.

There was never a real controversy over Obama's speech, only a manufactured sideshow, aided by the media.
