You're agreeing with him, Rush?
We have you on the record?
If health care passes and illegals are not covered, then Wilson's claim will in itself be a lie?
Well, then you might have to apologize yourself.
What?
Oh, yeah. Rush don't play dat.
Rush was yelling at his TV....today, his TV must apologize to him. It told lie after lie.
9,737,000 were not citizens of the U.S.
8,149,000 were children under 18 years of age; many can get federally subsidized children's health insurance coverage.
686,000 were age 65 or older who are eligible for Medicare because of their age, yet they reported themselves as not having coverage.
17,802,000 reported incomes of less than $25,000; many would qualify for Medicaid and other government subsidized programs.
7,253,000 reported incomes of $75,000 or more; and 6,870,000 reported incomes of between $50,000 and $74,999 -- some who could afford to purchase coverage but don’t.
All these figures from 2007 can be verified on the Census Bureau's Web site today by looking down the third column of this general table at this address: http://www.census.gov/hhes/www/macro/032008/health/h01_001.htm
Please find it in the bill where is states that illegal aliens will be covered. We'll wait....
second, this is what the bill says:
SEC. 246. NO FEDERAL PAYMENT FOR UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS.
Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States.
------------------------------------------------------------
so, as you can see both wilson and rush are either to stupid to read or they are lying. which do you believe it is?
That tiny burst you just heard was Dave's pea-sized brain.
How can you say in someone's situation, where saying you make, $50k/year that you can afford to buy your own health insurance? Chances are good, you can't afford that, and still be able to exist. I'd even guess that making $75k/year you'd have a hard time buying your own insurance, as it can be up to, and over $2k / month. For example, last winter, I lost my job. They offered me COBRA coverage, which if I had to pay for, just for myself, would have $2500 / month. Now, my unemployment was $1600 / month, plus mortgage, and other bills, and how was I going to afford that? Couldn't do it, and I was making, yes, $75k/year.
Also, in those numbers, it doesn't say how many people simply CAN'T purchase insurance (maybe for credit reasons, pre-existing conditions and so on).
And, also, in the proposed bill, it states that illegal aliens are not going to be covered.
"There are now more than 30 million American citizens who cannot get coverage. In just a two-year period, one in every three Americans goes without health care coverage at some point. And every day, 14,000 Americans lose their coverage."
H.R. 3200: Sec 246 — NO FEDERAL PAYMENT FOR UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS
Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States.
Wilson called him out on illegals, not the overall uninsured numbers.
And we're talking about a bill that will CORRECT any problems regarding illegals currently getting insurance. Not one that will fix the numbers from 2007.
Future. Not past.
Anyways this isn't even what Wilson was on about. You, like Wilson, seem to think Obama is lying when he said illegals won't be covered. Can you prove this?
And this says so.
H.R. 3200: Sec 246 — NO FEDERAL PAYMENT FOR UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS
Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States.
You'd almost have a point if they were playing horseshoes or tossing hand grenades last night.
What do the insurance companies bring to the table in regards to health care?
So far the only answer I've gotten so far is that they exist to make doctors rich. Do you agree?
1. But "not a citizen"...does that mean "illegal aliens", or are we assuming it does?
2. Are you assuming that people between 50K and 75K can afford insurance because they have all that disposable income? Hardly disposable if you ask me. I'm having problems affording my own insurance at 50K; what makes you think I can afford it when a major illness hits my family?
3. When you say 'can qualify' and 'would qualify', how many actually DO qualify?
"Not a citizen" and "illegal alien/undocumented worker" are too different things. Need help figuring that out?
Don't mean to nitpick, but...argh. It gets me sometimes. Forgive me, man.
haha. Sorry. Need my afternoon caffeine. Thanks, PS. :)
I believe Obama, and lots of other people have said there are 45 million people in America not insured. And, as shown by your own link, he's correct.
"We are the only advanced democracy on Earth – the only wealthy nation – that allows such hardships for millions of its people. There are now more than thirty million American citizens who cannot get coverage. In just a two year period, one in every three Americans goes without health care coverage at some point. And every day, 14,000 Americans lose their coverage. In other words, it can happen to anyone."
Does not seem like the President is counting to 45 million in his plan.
Just saying...
How many of these people are being denied coverage because of pre-existing conditions?
"9,737,000 were not citizens of the U.S."
And none will be covered, read the CBO report.
His #'s add up to pver 50,000,000 and hi say nothing about anyone making between $25,000.00-$50,000.00
Way to make stuff up dave
lmao!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is why, when you add up all the individual numbers in your list, they come to more than the TOTAL number of uninsured!
Nice job on the talking points, though.
