"who is teaching us to behave that way?"

No beck, its not mostly our politicians who are teaching us that its all about bickering and finger pointing. No it is YOU beck that have taught many of us that at least half the country consists of unpatriotic, misguided dangerous people known as liberals. You Beck are among those that are largly responsible for our disfunctional political discourse.

They're wise to the fact that the amount of crap that Beck and others put out is so great and their audience's curiosity so low that it will never matter at least in a dollars and cents way.

You've hit the nail on the head Vincenzo. How brain dead do you have to be to take everything you hear on Fox as gospel?

Have you ever tried to answer a little kids question? As soon as you answer, they come up with another related question. And the little kid is so curious, he'll ask questions all day.

What the hell is is with so many Americans being so incurious?

I really don't think Beck is a racist but one of those guys who never lived in a multi-cultural area and never had exposure to diverse opinions. People like Beck, Hannity and many conservatives think they have the only "true" opinion and all others are foreign or just plain wrong. I think back to David Gergan when he related a story about how one of his students didn't celebrate the 4th of July and he had the intellectual maturity to delve deeper into the subject instead of just yelling that she was somehow un-American or hated her country. He valued the fact that some groups have a complex relationship with this country. If we could have more maturity in our interactions a guy like Beck would be marginalized like he should.

GLENN BECK IS A WILLFUL IDIOT

I'm shocked at just how amazingly close to the truth Lawrence O'Donnell's prediction was (at the 2:20 mark) the day after Beck called President Obama a "racist" and brought the bar of civil discourse to historic lows.

Making up fake quotes now? You fit right in with the rest of the Beckers. You can sit around and make up quotes and pretend that Rockefeller was a liberal and pretend that Beck never called the first black president a racist with a deep-seated hatred of white people. Truly pathetic ignorance that does damage to the country as a whole.

Notice how puppyrainbow actually brings up a quote from Jefferson that basically contradicts so much of Beck's, Rush's and Hannity's shallow patriotism. Only now that we have a non-conservative, non-white president, dissent is ok. As long as remains narrowly focus on preapproved targets it gets the Jefferson approval. Before dissent was for traitors!

"who is teaching us to behave that way?"

Blame, from an adult male in the freeist society the world has ever known, on his "politicians" for infantile behavior.

Blame, from an adult male, decrying that behavior, that he himself has been a premiere practioner of,

Blame, blame, from an adult male, excusing the propensity to bicker on the "other", as if he has no role to play, notwithstanding it was less than a month ago he called the President of the United States a RACIST.

THIS is what is wrong with America today. A complete absence of responsibility on the part of an adult male for his OWN actions. A complete absence on the part of a "professional" broadcaster with a secure financial future to raise the discourse from GOTCHA, irresponsible journalism because it might impact his paycheck. A complete absence on the part of a human being to recognize that he is PERSONALLY as guilty (if not more so) than any of the "others" for debasing the discourse.

If you right wingers can't see Beck for what he truly is, then you are brainless and blind.

      Fellow Matterers,

Mental health is an important issue. G.Beck must be on drugs that affect short-term memory. Does intervention work for the sober?

Global, Japan, auto manufacturing is not a level playing field. The Japanese government is heavily involved in auto companies, and has been throughout. Not in the, save our hide, kind of way.

The American auto manufacturers fell back on their laurels. Unions tangle with companies, and disgruntled workers produced inferior product(s).

We are to blame, for assuming the win. We're number one before proof - consistency - produced calamitous results - bailout.

OK, I'm not fooled. Beck may say "republican and democrat" but he's only talking about progressive, democrat or liberal politicians. He's putting the blame squarely on them and at the same time trying to be a middle of the ground guy. He's an insult to intelligence.

Beck is manipulation personified. Manipulation of facts, manipulation of patriotic feelings, manipulation of viewers ignorance and finally the manipulation of himself into believing that his purpose is noble and selfless. It's not his political stance I object to.(well, some not all) It's the transparent self-serving, messianic complex he bathes in. Manipulation is an addicts stock and trade. Beck may have given up the drink, but he never gave up the old playbook on how to get what he wants.

you know what I find OFFENSIVE as HELL? On 9/12/01, I was sitting by the television, crying. I didn't feel rebellious, I didn't think my government was screwing me over, I was concerned about my country and my family.

Only AFTER 9/12, when GWB decided to lie, to attack a country which had nothing to do with the attacks of 9/11, to spend, with the aid of his rubberstamp Congress, our country into HUGE debt [far surpassing what Obama has PROPOSED], then, I felt rebellious and thought my government was screwing me over. Obama has done NOTHING to warrant this kind of nonsense. Beck knows it, but he's banking on the low-information racists who are enamored with his program and who believe that it is NEWS, to bring him more money. It's about MONEY and fame for Beck, it is not about the welfare of this country.

Exactly Bintx, I'm a United Airlines pilot and I remember on 9-12 I was sitting in a hotel across from the twin towers looking at the smoke very paranoid and exhausted reading every newspaper I could get my hands on. I NEVER want to feel like that again. And this fool is exploiting those emotions to "overthrow" our new president. I'm sure he knows damned well that there will be no death panels, no socialism or civilian armies. Actually we're the fools for watching him.

so much to say about this clip. Forget the "your a racist" stuff but think about this it very easy to point out the problems, but it is hard to find the solution to the problem. That is what I hate about guys like Beck all they do is point out the problems, he doesn't say how to make a fix the problems, other than the talking points, he just stirs the pot.
