People are upset about all the economic hardships that have happened. The emotion, I feel, is multiplied by the fear that pundits are feeding to them.

Race is likely not the reason they are outraged at the Presidency, but I feel that the fact the President IS black is allowing them the feeling of courage to shout back. I think, if the President was white, they would likely hold their emotions in check.

"but I feel that the fact the President IS black is allowing them the feeling of courage to shout back. I think, if the President was white, they would likely hold their emotions in check." I think you are right about that, which means that the President's race is an issue, which makes what they are doing RACIST! But thanks for pointing that out, even if you failed to realize what you really meant. The fact is, most of the people there protesting for lower taxes are completely unaware that taxes since 1913 have been much higher, with the lowest bracket being 20% and the highest being between 60-91% for much of the century. Our current rate top rate is 35%. I give this site as my reference:

People are upset about the hardships they have endured over the last year and the fact that they lost the election. They have no understanding of how those hardships came to be. They want to go back to a time that never existed.

The teabaggers that were whining in DC obviously are not suffering financially since they were able to waste their money on a trip to DC for a useless protest.

I saw that sign at the march. There is a really good video on YouTube somewhere that shows the sign covered in horse poo on Fourth Street. There were lots of signs that were distasteful. There were lots of signs that said things like Czars=Communism, and Taxes=Slavery. There were lots of signs that proclaimed Freedom and but no real agenda out there. It was an anti-Obama/Pelosi rally against taxes but for God, Guns, and Soldiers and against taxes, immigrants, and abortion. But there was very little in the way of ideas for improvement or how to fix anything, other than by doing away with the whole Congress or the government. And right around 12:45, they played a very seditious video by Bob Basso as Thomas Paine called "The Second American Revolution." The flag I found distateful showed an assault rifle with Come and Take them written underneath.

poor choice of words at around :43

"We celebrate the anniversary of the Lehman brothers collapse..."

I don't think that is anything to celebrate.

Sir, you didn't have to look too far to find those signs. They were everywhere out there, and people were handing them out (I was offered one, but declined to take it).

I did see some good old fashioned capitalism out there though. Folks walking throught the crowd selling their wares (buttons, t-shirts, hats, Don't Tread on Me flags, and so on).
