      Is he kidding ?

Hell, conservatives have managed to get a voice in most mainstream publications. Maybe that's why other publications have declined.

In Pittsburgh, Richard Scaife is battling the IRS over his daily newspaper because it loses millions a year and can no longer be written off as a business loss under the "hobby rule"

It doesn't matter if he's kidding or not. Either way, he's willing to say it on national television. Which is actually kind of how I feel about Glenn Beck. He may be nice enough in person, but I doubt I could see past his work on TV and become friends with the man, you know?

it's funny how some conservative media (radio and tv) is thriving, yet National Review never made a profit and other publications are failing. Maybe this proves conservatives don't read

Thats funny, someone from the Times lamenting about the decline of any publication at all. I think it is time for him to look in his own shop.

Actually the Paris Business Review has more credibility than the NY Times.

Yeah the NY Times is thriving, they have been downsizing for years, bleeding money and has to rely on Mexican financing.

Based on the posts here, I heard something entirely different in the video.

Tanenhaus laments the decline of conservative publications based on how radicalized they've become, and have moved away from main-stream conservative values.

These publications are no longer main-stream conservative outlets. They are aligning themselves with non-issues like Obama's place of birth.

If I have the correct read on this, then I agree with Tanenhaus.

I have come to the conclusion that the Republicans have collected a base of ignorant, stupid people willing to swallow the bilge coming from these media outlets.

This has happened to such an extent that I now call the Republican party, the party of stupid.

The Wall Street Journal used to be a conservative newspaper and a journal of American business.Today it is just a pile of hate filled editorials by Rove,Limbaugh, etc, etc, using the Journal's past integrity to past garbage off as true news. Many of their articles are propaganda pieces having nothing to do with business. There is more than a resemblence to the so called conservative(republican) propaganda machine and KGB propaganda methods. There are dangerous conections between the two, that work against the American people. It needs to be exposed

No matter what the Republican party is moving to the radical right in a last attempt to salvage the party because they know that there is a lot of hate in this country.
