That sentence is the verbal equivalent to the last five minutes of a fireworks show, where they throw whatever they have left up into the sky and it all blows up at the same time.

So any name works as long as it's a derogatory name, eh rush? Pretty much proves right there that idiots of the reich really could care less if they understand what the terms mean, they are mostly interested in hurling insults.

Fascism: Strong government control or oversight of private industry in order to improve the condition of laboring class by strongly controlling profit distribution.
Socialism: Outright government ownership of industry in order to improve the condition of laboring class by eliminating profit motive.
Liberal\Progressive: A belief that government can be used as a tool to improve society. The usual method is to move wealth from the business owner/wealthy/aristocrat classes to programs to benefit lesser classes, primarily through taxation, fees or penalties.
Snoopy says that these terms are inflammatory. I believe that in the eyes of many Americans these labels describe political systems that are antithetical to the U.S. tradition of American freedom. But they aren't inflammatory. They are technical terms used to describe and differentiate political systems.

I think that the real crux of the current polarized climate of political discussion is that entertainment rules and reasonable political discourse does not sell advertisement. You cannot get people to listen to arguments and make up there minds, most want to sit back, sip their beers and yell: "That's exactly right, just what I thought!"
I am concerned that this will ultimately derail American politics even further and potentially get the fringers on both sides out to attack verbally and physically. People like Rush, Sean, and Bill who seed hatred have to take responsibility for this sad development.
