I wish this particular picture combo had not been arranged because the vantage points are so different. No doubt the teabaggers are scoffing at this comparison right now. (Well maybe not, as dense as some appear to be). The left pic should have been cropped to match the right. It would still work.

I was there, it was 60,000-70,000. The footage they showed was from some other time, when the flags were at half mast, the flags were at full mast on Saturday. Also, since I had to explain to an angry taxpayer/citizen that he could indeed walk down the Mall since it was public property, it seems that FreedomWorks only had a permit for the Capitol grounds and weren't allowing people to protest on the Mall area. The crowd stretched from the Capitol stairs to Second Street. There were some stragglers and support vehicles on Third Street and the event disappeared at Fourth Street. The Inauguration, which was 1.8 million stretched from the stairs to the Washington Monument and maybe beyond. Fox and Beck are lying, and they are skirting resource citations because they don't want to get caught.

Obviously they are lying. Why would they need to have such a crappy camera cover the event reportedly showing "1.7 million" people? Fox has plenty of high definition cameras they could have set up to cover this event and show millions of people, but they didn't have the footage so they showed previously captured footage from some other event captured on a security camera of all things.

The streaming crowd footage, that has even shown up on MSNBC is not for the 9/12 March. The flag is at half mast, the flag was a full mast on Saturday. I was surprised actually, because I thought Teddy might merit 30 days of mourning.

Actually, that's a good point. I know they had coverage there, I walked right past their huge bus. It was parked on the side of the Mall around Third Street. The CNN bus was parked on Third, facing south. There were also people up on the balcony of the Newseum which would have been a great place to witness the march up Pennsylvania Avenue. A speaker made reference to the First Amendment carved into the wall, but never mentioned that fact that it was the Newseum, 'cause all those teabaggers just know that Main Stream Media is bad, and evil, and doesn't understand free speech.

In another thread, Snoopy posted a link to this video that showed a guy carrying a sign that read "Public Option NOW" through the crowd.

If there were even one hundred thousand people there, there would not have been that much space between the people for a guy and a six man police escort to walk around in the crowd.

One thing the video showed, beside the fact that many of these teabaggers don't know what the hell they're protesting against, is that the crowds were pretty thin compared to any of the marches I've seen in DC.

Yeah, that was what I took out of Beck's and F&F's comments too.

"Since when is it okay, in this country, you only can agree with the President, and you can't dissent?"

They keep saying that we on the left want to stifle dissent. We don't. We want to point out when people lie. We really want them to stop lying, but if they won't stop lying, we want that lying exposed.

No one thinks that dissent is bad. But it's rude to shout out on Congress when the President is speaking, even if you're right. It's 3 times as bad if you shout out in Congress if you're wrong. It doubles your idiocy when you shout out a personal attack in Congress when the President is speaking.

But if you want to explain why you think it's wrong to not have an enforcement mechanism in the bill to prevent illegal immigrants from getting benefits (hint, there was already a Commissioner who was tasked with that job, and the IRS has verification procedures too), then go for it. Dissent that way. Go for it.

You can tell when Beck is lying cause he can't remember his sources but his can remember his talking points very well. Yesterday Malkin claimed that it was a news station like NBC, I think, that said there 2 million people there which turned out to be a big lie anyway. I guess tomorrow Fox will say that most news stations said 2 million people were there even though they only said about 60,000 to 70,000.

This bonehead idiot doesn't know who he should be mad at. He thinks it’s the people who are trying to clean up the mess left by Republicans.
You know who is really soulless? It's the Tea Baggers and the people who follow Glen Beck. It is obvious Beck is willing to overlook those who were leading America to destruction. Where was this lying and crying fool when Bush was leading us into a war on lies?
Where was this bastard when Bush was running up a huge deficit?
Where was Beck when Bush was missing in action during Katrina?
Where was Beck's outrage when Bush ignored warning that "terrorist" was determined to attack inside America?
How about Bush spending precious time in a class room while American was under “attack”? Why does Beck overlook all those things?
Beck has no credibility with folks with common sense, only hateful people, people who has no humanity or soul, people who would rather drown in the sea, before allowing a black man to guise the ship to safety. It is no wonder these are the kind of people that are attractive to a deranged man (Glen Beck).
These uneducated, hateful protesters should be mad at Big Insurance companies and the last administration. They are the criminals who abused the system and took advantage of the American people.

And if you even bother to read the University report it compares Obama's day and an event held in 1963 to the 9/12 protest.

      Read and weep!
