      It's sad, really.

I mean, I think a lot of people were at these rallies were honest, hard working Americans who have never become interested in politics before. They really do want to protest - for the first time in their life they want to make their voice heard - which I think is awesome. Everyone should protest at some point in their life. It's American to protest.

I mean, I think of my parents. They hated Bush, and are starting to think Obama isn't as great as they thought he would be. Luckily I have a good relationship with them and regularly "check in" on them to make sure they aren't buying the nonsense coming out of Fox.

I say it's sad because so many people have become sucked in by Fox because they truly believe the nonsense coming out of there. And if you watch Fox, I'd say about 1/4 of their coverage now discusses how terrible other news channels are. How everything is a lie, and they are the only truth.

Some of these people at the rallies are absolutely terrified. And unfortunately, they have gotten sucked in by the extreme right-wing. A part of the right right-wing that makes Bush look like a saint.

It really does kind of break my heart. I hope the good folks will realize what this "tea party" nonsense really is, and will start rejecting it. They don't have to become tree hugging liberals, but at least start to start having respect for themselves and what they personally stand for.

As for the rest of the tea baggers that make so little effort to mask their true vile and hatred - well, as I was told when I didn't support the Iraq war - "nobody is making you stay here..."

Why are they asking a racist whether racism against Obama is a factor in these protests?

The other day he didn't back down from his calling Obama "racist in chief".

Please CNN, don't give this guy any more airtime.

Isn't Anderson Cooper supposed to be some kind of serious journalist? Why A.C. why?

AC is a lightweight. He comes from a famous family and thought journalism would be fun so CNN gave him a job. He is like the Paris Hilton of Journalism.

I'm not so sure that Anderson Cooper is a lightweight. If you look at bio, graduated from Yale, interned at the CIA, worked for Channel One and ABC News, and self-funded documentaries in Vietnam, Rwanda and Somalia. He did do some pop culture stuff, but I'm not so sure the analogy with Paris Hilton is at all accurate.

Actually, I think this discussion was pretty good, even if a bit hyperbolic.

To be fair in the previous interview with his idiot, Cooper had him looking very uncomfortable. He did some good background work. I think they just want people to know who the crazies are.

I saw the show. And I think Cooper did a fine job in pulling the curtain: He showed Williams as the racist talkinghead that he is. He confronted him with his website, he asked him directly: "Do you ask anybody to take the sign down on your ralleys", did not allow Williams to get away with blabla. I liked it. And: I think it#s important to do it: There are people who believe a lot before they start to think themselves. They needed to see this. -- Cooper is not Blitzer or Dobbs. he the only reason to watch CNN(international) at all.

Cooper did a much better job than Roland Martin did this morning in his matchup with Williams. Roland just sat there looking incredulous, rather than attacking the stupid stuff coming out of this guy's mouth.

Williams goes directly into the talk radio "schtick" using the cliche's that make this sort of talk so unbearable to listen to.
One could look away from the video and think you're listening to Hannity or any of the other name calling mis informers.

I don't know who tagged this as "tea parties" but if I remember right, the Boston Tea Party was aprotest against paying taxes to the king of the brits, not a protest against the US Treasury collecting taxes. This is more like a parade of the dumbest americans lacking a basic history class led by those who should know better.
