Jimmy Carter has done more to advance Israel's interests than any of the big talking neo-cons have done in their many fantasies. In fact, these bumbling idiots actively harm Israel, whether they know it or not.

But its not about Israel or America, its all about them and their pathetic tough guy posturing from the safety of their home offices.

You have got to be kidding me people have a right to defend themselves.
For the lily liveried Hezbollah to live in crowded areas and and us innocent families as a shield is criminal.

For Carter to be a ex nuclear officer on a submarine is almost a shame, he should retire and quite embarrassing himself and the United States

That is not even constructive, why do you waste your an dmines time even posting that? You don't believe that Hezbollah and terrorist origination use innocent families as human shields??

Rent space in highly crowded apartment building thinking no one would fire back due to innocent victims. Then blame the other side for killing them.

Get a grip on reality please

Oh sure, the Israelis have absolutely no part in all this. People of your political persuasion love to discuss the horrors of suicide bombings. But have you ever imagined what it would be like to have your country not only occupied, but encroached upon steadily by settlements from the occupying people. And then to have your refugee camps, which this occupying people drove you into, quarantined by the occupiers, thus crippling your economy. And then to have them dump their garbage on you. And then to have them launch airstrikes which often kill only innocents.

Are we to expect people in these circumstances to be completely civilized in their reaction to this state of affairs? I'm afraid we can't; its just not realistic. And judging by your extremely facile, one-way assessment of the situation as an (presumedly) American, I highly doubt that you would be capable of the kind of supreme rationality required to see things from the Israeli perspective had you been born a Palestinian.

Knowing your type as well as I do, right now, you're probably thinking "how could you show sympathy for suicide bombers?!?!?!". Grow up, I did no such thing.

To end the fertile crescent's long nightmare, both sides will have to make painful sacrifices. And right now Israel is refusing to make even relatively non-painful concessions (settlement freezes). And as long as they follow neo-con advice, this will continue, as will their misery.

One way or another, Israel will have to find a way to live in peace with its neighbor. And although the thought may make you gag, Jimmy Carter will be remembered fondly centuries from now as a man who introduced a ray of hope that this is possible.

          "Retire" from what exactly?

Oh, and what is this "trashing military service" you conservatives always decry?

That guy was so amazingly dense even Bedwet Becky was trying to cut him off as soon as he opened his mouth. He totally undermined the whole premise offered that the left are big meanie racist-callers. It was like machine gun irony with that dimwit.

      How delicious.

"I don't think people buy into the cries of 'racism'", says Glenn Beck.

      Oh, really, Glenn?
