From the September 16 edition of Fox News' Glenn Beck:

But I don't believe for one second that it was genuine. Beck meant it when he said it.
But its not about Israel or America, its all about them and their pathetic tough guy posturing from the safety of their home offices.
For the lily liveried Hezbollah to live in crowded areas and and us innocent families as a shield is criminal.
For Carter to be a ex nuclear officer on a submarine is almost a shame, he should retire and quite embarrassing himself and the United States
Rent space in highly crowded apartment building thinking no one would fire back due to innocent victims. Then blame the other side for killing them.
Get a grip on reality please
In case you missed it, Carter has been retired for the past 30 years.
Are we to expect people in these circumstances to be completely civilized in their reaction to this state of affairs? I'm afraid we can't; its just not realistic. And judging by your extremely facile, one-way assessment of the situation as an (presumedly) American, I highly doubt that you would be capable of the kind of supreme rationality required to see things from the Israeli perspective had you been born a Palestinian.
Knowing your type as well as I do, right now, you're probably thinking "how could you show sympathy for suicide bombers?!?!?!". Grow up, I did no such thing.
To end the fertile crescent's long nightmare, both sides will have to make painful sacrifices. And right now Israel is refusing to make even relatively non-painful concessions (settlement freezes). And as long as they follow neo-con advice, this will continue, as will their misery.
One way or another, Israel will have to find a way to live in peace with its neighbor. And although the thought may make you gag, Jimmy Carter will be remembered fondly centuries from now as a man who introduced a ray of hope that this is possible.
Oh, and what is this "trashing military service" you conservatives always decry?
How delicious.
Oh, really, Glenn?
