Gosh, Bull, after all this time, you hit the jackpot. ACORN's problems can stand on their own (as they should).

Why is O'Reilly trying to make sense now? I wonder if he sees the writing on the wall (like the Beck boycott) and is trying to save his a$$ by being the "moderate."

What the hell is wrong with O'Reilly? I just can't see him as being reasonable. Maybe even HE can grow wiser with age?.....NAh!

Between the heat he took for inciting violence against the murdered Dr Tiller and that upstart Glenn Beck horning in on his territory, Bill needs a new schtick.

Maybe he's going for the elder statesman look.

I hate to even admit this. Up until we invaded Iraq I was alot more conservative. I used to watch fox alot and O'Reilly in particular. I disagreed with him fairly often but I could always see his side. He was much more moderate. Actually pretty fair most of the time. But, after 9/11 when fox took the "mask" off and went full wing nut that’s when stuff changed and quick. O'Reilly became much more vitriolic and confrontational. At first I thought it was because he was angry and afraid after 9/11. And that may have been true to an extent, but now I see it for what it has become. He craves the power and the money and the fame, and he will do ANYTHING to hold onto that illusion for as long as he can. But I also think that every once in a great while, the old Bill returns for a brief moment when he feels a pang of remorse for all the hate and suffering he causes to prop himself up. I will not watch his show anymore other than some clips because I actually kind of feel bad for bill. For all he is trying to achieve, when he dies he will be forgotten within a generation.

Me either. He must be having hot phone sex, with several ACORN employees.

Jeeez...you know how lame right wing arguments are when even Bill O'Reilly disagrees with them. The right wing is an embarrassment...but I'm happy to sit back and watch them do it.

Let's face it they are looking for a way out of his story but there really isn't anything else going on. The plan was the ACORN murder video was going to run through the whole week but it imploded in a day. They have more videos but the sting operation is no longer credible because there is too much evidence against the actors. Bill has been playing this game for a long time and knows when it's time to call it quits. Beck and Hannity are young and foolish in the game and are letting their emotions cloud their judgment.

The have not been on the defense to realize when it's time to bow out. Beck is making a huge mistake by going back to the racism talking point. It's becoming a circle of defending. This is where you want them fr at least 2 to 3 weeks.

I love mediamatters. I seriously would be in awe if they did not devote their time to expose these filthy whores-of-the-media. But there's a huge problem with their way of exposing them. Media matters you guys are basically giving a platform for these guys. Everyday I see something about rush limbaugh and I seriously feel like throwing up. Why the hell would you guys give them room to speak every single day?! It's literally you guys who make people like limbaugh, savage, quinn etc. get so much publicity and attention. I don't see CNN, MSNBC, BBC or any other news channel devote so much time to put up their audio's from their radio talk shows every morning with no commentary exposing them whatsoever. Fox News is a major cable network so they already have all the attention without you guys talking about them. I love you guys but I wish you guys would stop posting these people's talk show every morning. This is what they want. This is literally sad and shocking. The Democratic Party has lost so many supporters in just 6 months. How the fcuk did that happen?

Simple, they don't deliver what they promise, their plans are poorly designed and they don't represent the real wishes of the American people.

And BTW, it isn't MMFA that gives anyone a platforn, the people you refer to have a platforn because people want to hear what they have to say. Contrast that with the dismal performance of the liberal competition that arises from time to time. They fail. And eventually disappear. I am wondering when Phil Donahue will try again, or how about the delightful pairing of Jerry Springer and Jeaneane Garafalo. Wow, such fine representatives of the liberal point of view.

Fairliberal, you really do need to start READING more and quit watching Fox 24/7. You post information which is incorrect . . . ALL THE TIME.

You do it with such certainty and aplomb, but it's still INCORRECT. It is the Republican Party which is losing support. Why? Because civilized individuals are getting SICK of the ridiculously FALSE stories which are being ginned up by Fox.

BTW, you are aware that Air America is alive and doing very well, right? Thom Hartmann is one of the top radio programs in the country as is Stephanie Miller . . . they have limited exposure and they still are highly rated. There are many, many, many, many more people who watch and/or listen to MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS and NPR than those who watch Fox and listen to Rush.

Expand your horizons, you might actually find out that you know NOTHING about what is going on around you. Spewing the misinformation and out and out lies you hear on Fox is not being "informed," it's just being a groupie.

hey "TheAncients"...i personally understand your concern, and i shared them at one point.

But i think you miss the point, Media Matters is not a "channel" and they are not responsible for broadcasting news (at least as far as i can tell living outside the US), MMFA points out the flaws and wrongs of the media and raise awareness about them. The Becks and Limbaughs of the World will definitely hate on MMFA and that is just proof that they are full of utter NONSENSE.

If MMFA and others who fact check comments made in media were not there to call all these people out; the country would be so misguided it would be even scarier than it is now. Unfortunately, i also see why sometimes some broadcasting channels also report on Rush/Beck and others, as much as we may just want to ignore them, they DO cause enough ruckus to warrant/require them to be reported; now, THIS IS DEFINITELY a shame, it would be nice to just ignore them and pray to goodness that they crawl back under the slimy rock they came out of, but in the modern information age, they are here to stay...we can only do what we can to CALL THEM OUT and hope people see them for what they really are.

But your concern is definitely shared.

Ps: Oh, i kind of feel sorry for O' Reilly trying to do something good and state some factual things while at the same time trying to keep the 'Fox line' standing...KUDOS FOR EFFORT Bill!

I'll have to admit - I never watched Fox news until the past few weeks. I had heard horror stories about Bill and expected the worst. I was shocked to see that he seems like the most reasonable of the bunch. I thought maybe I was missing something... but maybe not.

What the hell happened? ... Bill seems to be a lot more reasonable these past few months. The reigning champ has dropped to 5th or 6th worst person on Fox. Good for him.

I'm thinking that he is feeling remorse for his part in the death of Dr. George Tiller. I think he finally figured out that words CAN kill and false words such as the ones he continually spews kill faster.
