Are these people really that stupid? With all of the right wing lunatics running around in a panic because we elected a black President, and with the kind of Second Amendment nuts joining the fray, and these FOX geniuses think that Nancy Pelosi's reference to what happened in San Francisco is what might give the nuts ideas about assassination. Sorry, but that boat left the dock a long time ago... Just amazing...they're accusing her of raising tensions. Unfreakin'believable...

Or, perhaps, this a pre-emptive CYA...

I think it's more of a "I know you are but what am I" thing going on. You know the cons - the only original ideas they come up with are always based on projection. Since they don't have the introspect to recognize the basis of their Obama hatred, they figure we're just in a name-calling battle here and so "I'm rubber - you're glue..." is fair play.

Besides - when's the last time any con pulled a pre-emptive CYA? They're not that forward-thinking. Doesn't mean they won't use it after the fact, but we're talking a purely reactive bunch, here.

And though I recognize myself delving deeper into this subject that is warranted, I'll shamelessly mention that it's my theory that they're so fanatical about their ideology and religion because it relieves them of having to have any actual foresight and form expectations based on current facts and reality.

CHECK Neon Desert! You're right on point. The right been successfully using "projection" for decades. The more people understand "projection" the more people will acknowledge it as a tactic of the right. The media should do its job and explain what it is how it applies to politics. Here's a basic definition of the theory:

Projection is one of the defense mechanisms identified by Freud and still acknowledged today. According to Freud, projection is when someone is threatened by or afraid of their own impulses so they attribute these impulses to someone else. For example, a person in psychoanalysis may insist to the therapist that he knows the therapist wants to rape some women, when in fact the client has these awful feelings to rape the woman.

I agree with IRONY - nobody does projection better than the winguts, so it's easy to utilize that special skill to insulate themselves from things that may happen in the future. They've done it numerous times in the past 8 months - why would they stop now?

Are these people really that stupid?

        In my experience? Yes.

Add it to their list of RW delusions...

        Only Minorities can be racists.
        Only Democrats can be hypocrites.
        Only Liberals can be Fascists.
        Only Left Wingers promote violence.

Socrates (I believe it was) postulated that knowledge of one's SELF is the greatest wisdom of all. Using that scale, HOW F---ING STUPID ARE THESE RIGHT-WINGERS?!

The lunatic right will never say they are wrong. They will continue saying the ignorant talk, and even IF even something did happen to the president they will deny the hatred came from their side and continue blaming the left. Real conservatives need to be really ashamed of these groupies pretending to be conservatives! Retards! If you grew up and seen the past results of racism, hate, and the violence it can lead to then you will speak on it if you see the signs! FOX Snooze's Morning Show BETTER yet the whole channel as a whole is just as knowledgeable as watching Cartoon Network!

"...it's brought the census of the American public back to the table. They care again. They're out there voicing their opinions."

Because when people protested the Iraq War, they weren't showing that they cared or voicing their opinions?

Give me a break. If anyone is "giving people ideas" about violence and assassination, it's people like Beck and Limbaugh.

. . . Or when Liz Trotta "joked" about assassinating "Obama - er, Osama -- well, both if we could" . . .

. . . Or when supporters of Sarah Palin at a campaign rally shouted "KILL HIM!" in reference to Obama . . .

Someone brought a sign that said "We came unarmed (this time)" to the Teabag Express on 9/12. Many of the signs referred to the American Revolution, one flag had an assault rifle and "Come and Take Them on it". Militias are on the rising, hate crimes may start soon (as they did under the Reagan Administration), and Boehner is talking about a rebellion going on, why is Nancy's plea to turn down the rhetoric dangerous but these others aren't. Timothy McVeigh was an American, so were the wackos in Waco and Ruby Ridge. What will she say if someone else comes forward like Von Brunn at the Holocaust Museum, what if isn't a Museum, what about Congress or the White House?

Well, FOX & friends, I've just written you a little note. You know perfectly well that you and those on the right who support you began the racism, hate, and call to violence. To suggest that Nancy Pelosi is now doing that is the basest form of hypocrisy. I do not expect you to believe what I wrote in my letter, but you can no longer say that nobody warned you about where you were headed. This path, as the Speaker correctly pointed out, leads to violence and sometimes death. You are barreling down it as fast as you can. I advise you to stop hosting and supporting people like Mr. Beck, who bring nothing but hatred and invective to what is already an emotionally charged debate.

I'm looking forward to Fox News never again "demonizing the opposition", or "talking in tones that would provoke anger", since they now feel that doing so would be walking into "dangerous territory".

Nancy Polosi was right in her speach yesterday. If Fox and conservative talkers don't tone it down something very bad might happen soon. All it takes is one idiot out there that believes all of the BS that Fox and these conservatives are spreading to bring this country to its knees. It's just a matter of time.

When you harken back to terrible tragedies, it does tend to give people the wrong idea - like glenn beck for instance when he decided to make a healthcare protest against obama on 9/12 to rev up all the feelings of fear, hatred, horror, disgust, anguish and despair that Americans had that day in 2001. Beck even said he wanted to go back to that day because apparently we were at our best that day even though I think any sane person would agree, we were at our best in the weeks and months to follow but probably at our worst THAT day. But that didn't stop beck from playing on those same extreme fears and emotions to call out a rallying cry for a march on washington. So yes, it is dangerous doing this but why didnt you guys tell that to beck before his ridiculous march that had 9/12 in the title rather than nancy pelosi's remarks which may have been partially in reference to the signs at the 9/12 march which were certainly disturbing and most certainly some of them were racist.
