CNN: "Why did Fox News lie about...?"

They're Fox News; lying is what they do.

Why did they lie? Since FOX NEWS CHANNEL lies about almost everything else, they might as well lie about this as well.

        THANK YOU.

Yeah, but it's not like that's a conflict or gives the appearance of impropriety of anything.

Your statement doesn't make any sense. It would have been a conflict of interest if she had given Fox a pass on the ad or said that CNN could have covered it better

Im glad CNN is speaking up but they are SOOO easy on FOX. They say FOX promotes it but how about the fact that the entire idea of the protest - the name, location, date was all glen beck? How about the parallels between what FOX news actually says in its "news" program and what the signs of the protestors say? How about the misinformation of the people about why they are protesting? Most of them said either higher taxes, government takeover or were a birther trying to prove Obama is kenyan... In almost ever interview Ive heard its been one of those three if not something even more outlandish - like czars or obama's paramillitary corps. or death panels i.e. All of it was FOX news originated and NONE OF IT WAS TRUE! Isnt that a little strange to go to a protest and find that no one has a legit reason to be there??? And CNN must have seen the posters with FOX NEWS and GLEN BECK'S name on the poster. Didn't the find that curious? Or the thousands of bury obamacare with kennedy posters just weeks after the senators death?? COME ON CNN!!!

Fox News must have truly thought that they are the only source for "news" in America, and that they truly represent the majority. I guess they probably figured nobody would notice if they told another lie.

"I guess they probably figured nobody would notice if they told another lie. "

They got so used to lying that they thought not even a full page ad in three major newspapers would be noticed, not even by those they lied about.

        Pure, unadulterated HUBRIS.

fox news is not dumb! they jus play dumb on tv! (seriously)!

they play to their gullible, undereducated, misguided, naive, etc. audience! and in order for them 2 keep these people coming back 4 more day after day they have to be doing something right! (not right as in morally but right as in executing a "excellent" game plan and getting their desired result!-an ill informed audience)

      we know how fox works:
[*] constant claim of "liberal media bias"
[*] make up a story then ask "why isn't the mainstream media covering...?
[*] repeating obvious lies numerous times to "make it fact"
      [*] etc.

      BUT

fox does report actual (factual) news during the day. BUT when they do that they r making the audience think they r a "credible" source for news. AND this gives them "cover" to mislead and inject opinion on political issues!
-a perfect example of this is the 9am-11am show with meghyn kelly! and the 11am-1pm show that follows. study it!!!

this angers me because its blatantly obvious that fox does use this "formula"! and as much as i hate to say it, i feel like msnbc and cnn should sort use that example and make it into their own! not saying they should "lie" but stop being political about every damn thing. hence msnbc's "the place for politics"!

i said all this to say that CNN played right into fox's hand! they knew that calling out one or all of these networks would result in at least one of them rebutting fox by playing clips for the 9/12 march over and over again for a couple of days or more!

don't get it mistaken, i love wat rick sanchez did today in calling them out! that was classic! it was commendable and it shouldn't end there! and because he did a hell of a job, it was enough! the point was made then and there!

but i guess campbell didn't think so! lol!

I have noticed that during their day, it seems as if a little bit of the headlines bleed into the news, minus the extreme rhetoric.

      That's a sly Fox.

First they print an add to slander other news stations and make it seem like they are the only news station that matters. And... they get away with it.

Meanwhile, CNN and other stations will rebuke what is said by continually airing clips of the protest which is exactly what Fox wants. All the while supporters of Fox lies aren't even witnessing this rebuttal because they don't watch CNN to begin with and the TEA Party protest now gets even more air time thereby attempting to legitimize the protest.

      very sneaky

I remember when the event was happening; none of the major news networks (including FOX) seemed to be covering it heavily. I was expecting more from Fox since they promoted it so much. There wasn't even an update banner! I think C-SPAN deserves the most credit on this one, especially since they showed the TRUE SIZE of that minuscule crowd.

FOX: You guys didn't cover this! You don't care about these people OR what they're trying to say!

CNN: Yes we did! And we do care about these people's point of view! As a matter of fact, We're going to cover more right-wing events than YOU!
      -----------------------------------------------------------------

Fox knows exactly what they are doing with this ad. It's schoolyard bully tactics. If you want some other kid to eat a worm you tell them that they WON'T eat a worm. You tell them that they are too SCARED to eat the worm and then watch them eat it of their own volition. I really hope I'm wrong about this, but that's the way I'm seeing it.

Can it be that FOX has finally gone too far...that they've essentially shot the first salvo in a war that may not end all that well for them once the smoke and dust have finally cleared? Up till now they've been able to do their thing pretty much out of the limelight (except for MSNBC's constant poking), but will that still be the case after they so outrageously - and demonstrably falsely - impugned the integrity of these other news organizations?

ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN et. al. would be nuts not to take advantage of the great big opening FOX has foolishly given them.
