There are already some underway. :) Remember, Fox is a huge company that has local stations in every major market. And from what I've been told, Glenn Beck is pretty loud mouthed when he's around people he thinks he trusts.

eb, that's the most interesting and ridiculous part of this. Talking about this issue, I've seen, for the most part, the left and left-leaning pretty consistently feel that the ACORN employees involved should have been fired (which they promptly were) and that the filmmakers were unconvincing as undercover operatives, and have been pretty dishonest (they've shown their dishonesty).

What I've heard from the right and right leaning is that I(and others) are defending or apologizing for ACORN the organization ( they haven't committed any crime). I see it more as a "be careful what you wish for" situation.

Maybe they feel confident that those on the left won't stoop to something like this,even to make a point. Maybe they think the left just doesn't have as effective a propaganda machine that could make something comparable into a national news story. Or maybe they're really blinded by the shiny object that the media has used to work them up into their ACORN frenzy.

The same ones who react to any mention of racism with that "we're scared to speak because any criticism of Obama is called racist" strawman can turn around and call ACORN corrupt based on a few minutes of video of a handful of employees. I've been asking them(in real life and at this site) what they would have done if they were the ACORN employees, but I haven't had many answers.

Somebody brought up the word "entrapment" on another thread, and a conservative poster suggested it couldn't be entrapment because no law enforcement was involved, so the "evidence" wouldn't be admissible in court.

How about that precedent? The media ( and their completely independent **wink wink* sting operatives)can skirt the legal restrictions, pretend to be involved in illegal activity, and cherry pick those targets who don't place them under citizen's arrest. The "suspects" don't need to commit a crime, they only have to be in the vicinity of somebody talking about a crime.

The selected,edited footage can be shown on television (the court of public opinion), and it's ok, because it can't be used in any legal proceedings related to a crime that never took place.

I thought I'd fill in for the regular wingnuts. I've been asking many of the regulars here if they think the allegations (by sworn testimony of employees) that Blackwater was using(not just talking about) our tax money to operate (not "hear about") actual (not fictional)child prostitution rings has them anywhere near as concerned as the ACORN employees who were videotaped.

The only responses I've seen were scolding me for trying to change the subject, and one that (seriously) said that Blackwater hasn't had their day in court, so it was unfair to make any judgments.

It almost seems as if the rightys have been tricked into some sort of mass phony outrage. Boy, that would be the first time that happened.

This may be very true, but the real reason Fox Noise goes after ACORN is it's a predominately black organization and Van Jones is a black man.

Fox Noise's mission in life is to scare white people into thinking we are losing our way of life because of minorities getting access to the American dream.
