"if they're already going to be miserable?" (emphasis added)
C'mon Glenn, tell us how you really feel about us Hebes, sheenies and Kikes. We've heard it all before; screw your code like "they." We won't be offended; you're beyond being offensive. If you think the fasting is about being miserable, there's no way I could ever tell you what it's true purpose is.
FYI, the Muslims fast daily for a month during Ramadan, eating only in the evening. Maybe that would be a good model for you? Jews, Muslims, fasting is fasting! Right?
As a fellow mormon I should inform you that the first sunday of each month is set aside as a day of fasting and prayer.
Idiot.
I would not be suprised if Beck's radio show is dropped in New York City- a large Jewish population AND major market
if glen did spend a day in fasting and prayer i'm afraid he would be horrified by what he sees.
"Let us walk in the founders steps?" He sounds like a Jem'Hadar from Deep Space Nine.
I swear, we speak of these long-dead white chauvinist slave-owning anti-tax-extremists as if they were not only geniuses but saints (or even 'gods').
This crap about the "founders" and "their intent" has got to stop. "Their intent" when they said "All men are created equal" meant all white males and no one else are created equal. I dont want to "walk" in those "steps".
Yes, they had a few good ideas when read in a 21st century context, but they are not good role models for the modern American to look up to.
Plus, if they were so damn brilliant, why have we had to amend the document they wrote 27 times?
*sigh*
And, since the first ten amendments virtually came along for the ride, it's been amended 17 times, one time to undo another Amendment. Not bad for 220 years.
Why are you saying that? Did I once ever say that it wasn't designed that way?
The issue is that if they were so brilliant and pure--so much so that we should "walk in their footsteps"--then we shouldn't have ever HAD to make any changes.
What is frightening is the tone, he talks with the ease that his audience fully understands and accepts his shtick as fact and will laugh along with him.
Senorita Bonita
BTW As a non-observant Jew I still fast. It's good to do once a year.
It's "the Republic" now.
