The first truth to come out of Glenn Beck's mouth, "I'm not a journalist!" It is sad, though, to see him given any serious news time. I'd like to see the entire interview to see if he ever addressed the issues of why he would say he'd like to poison Pelosi, etc.

"Have you asked Jon Stewart this question?"

Pretty sure he didn't joke about poisoning the Speaker of the House or anything beyond that sort of thing, both criminally and institutionally speaking. Furthermore, I love it when that kind of equivalency flies across the discourse because it means the interviewee knows he or she is doing the wrong thing, but needs a scapegoat.

Why should she? Jon Stewart is a news based, satirical COMEDY program. Beck and Fox hold him out to be a serious "news commentator" on an alleged news network.

Have you asked John Stewart the same question?

I don't remember John Stewart joking anything about poisoning people or threatening people with shovels. When Stewart has opposing viewpoints, he also does not scream like a little girl and call them "pinheads".

In fact, Stewart is the exact opposite of this megamaniacal creep.

what is with conservatives and the word "pinhead"? why do they like to use it so much? its so childish and old fashioned. at least use an educated name to label someone.

Do you mean an educated name like the left used for Pres Bush all those years? Pinhead is quite mild compared to the words used by the left against Bush.

im not talking about mildness or how harsh it is in comparison to what liberals use, i just cant understand the reason for using the word "pinhead" to insult someone. what does it even mean... like my head is a pin and that is supposed to make me feel bad?

You are just amazing. You never answer a question, you just throw out a "but, but, but MOMMY, Johnny did it first." Grow up and carry on a legitimate conversation.

BTW, the only thing I ever stated about Bush [as a West Texan who grew up 160 miles from Bush's alleged "hometown" of Midland, I have sources] was that he was incompetent, unstable, dangerous and a phony . . . that's been my opinion for 20 years. He should never have held any elected office. My opinion has been proven correct.

The difference, bintx, is that the criticisms of Bush were most often based on some fact/policy - warrantless wiretaps, torture, illegal war, etc. etc.

The criticisms of Obama are based on fiction. That's why it's a giant steaming heap of false equivalency.

Glenn is close to an apology. It is too late, he is a bad man with a dangerous attitude and the sooner he crashes and burns off the American media stage, the better off we will all be. I highly recommend reading the full Salon.com article on him. By his own standards, Glenn is a looser who doesn't deserve an audience.

WAIT a minute, Barry. Now you dont talk so loud/Now you dont walk so proud is DYLAN! Love, Old Lady JJ who nevertheless loves GNR in their heyday. PS. Reminds me of a party I went to in the late 70s. This guy took a chug and said, "It's like RUSH said, man, 'All the Worlds a Stage." Sorry - english major geek got a laugh out of that one.

Wow, she just rolled over like an obedient puppy when it came to the "Obama is a racist" comments. Hmm... the soundbite world is a nasty place? Katie, how about saying, "Glenn, given the benefit of hindsight, what soundbite would you have given?" or "Glenn, I'll let you pontificate on the matter briefly, but please, unravel your true beliefs from that soundbite and just answer the DAMN question, which is 'Do you think Obama is a racist'?"

No wonder Couric is failing so badly. Well, no, not really, because the other networks aren't any better.

No, its a stupid question because there is no basis for it. The mere fact that a comment upsets the apple cart doesn't make it worthwhile.

just excuses... i have no sympathy for anything this guy has to say or if he wants to apologize or phrase his questions differently. it means absolutely nothing to me. he has crossed the line way too many times to make up for. if it was just a comment or two here and there, then maybe id consider, but this guy's words are too dangerous, and unfortunately, too many people take him and what he says seriously. if he was a comedian, and people saw him that way, i would be okay with it and just ignore him, but people listen to him like hes some kind of informant.

HE's not on COMEDY CENTRAL. John Stewart question is pointless. But his hair is different and he is fatter - is he morphing into fellow dropout Rush? If I were a conservative radio host, NOW would be the time to step up INTELLIGENT banter -- don't ask me for examples, but perhaps ISSUE BASED -- and wipe the RODEO CLOWNS off the map. Even their own people are getting embarrassed.

Sigh. Nevertheless, Beck's on Catie Couric. In whatever scumbag way - he's probably reached his highest dreams. That old adage, "All publicity is good publicity" sadly, plays out in these radidiots bankrolls.

Have you asked Jon Stewart this question?
Would someone please inform this idiot, Glenn Beck, that he is on the Fox News channel. Jon Stewart is on the comedy channel. I wish Couric would have pointed that out and asked which sound bite would have been better, the one where he says "This guy has proved over & over again that he is a racist."?????

What really disappoints me, beyond the fact that Glenn Beck received airtime outside of his sandbox, is that Couric had the opportunity to but didn't hold his feet to the fire.

... to be honest, if I were seated that close to Glenn Beck, I wouldn't ask any potentially upsetting questions either.

This is just like when he called Keith Ellison a traitor because he was a muslim.

He isnt sorry for what he said, he just "phrased it wrong". He still thinks Obama is a racist, and cant believe that no one else will "ask the questions".

Maybe because you are a crazy person Glenn?

      What's going on with Becky?

I've been out of the country a week and at the airport all the magazine stands are featuring Becky on cover of Time - Did I travel through some wormhole in time and space?

And yes, Couric is totally hopeless as a hard news interviewer. Is Becky hard news or a puff piece?

People who aren't journalists rarely talk in terms of "sitting on stories."
His defense of "FEMA internment camp thing" is that he had people out trying to disprove it. That's what police detectives do.

Which seems to make him a highly paid gossipmonger with a severe Barney Fife complex.

He should just say, "I'm not a journalist. I just play one on T.V.!"
