Man, I get so disgusted with the morons who suggest nuking every time the US has a conflict with another country. They simply get some gut-level feelings of satisfaction from the idea with no thought given to the massive loss of innocent lives or the longer-term consequences of such an action.

They're terrified and primitive. They see no reasonable alternative other than mass murder of those we don't get along with because they're so terrified that they'll get us first. Diplomacy barely occurs to them.

Except for that little fact that we're indeed not at war with the country of Afghanistan and all. And the fact that we're once again facing an insurgency, as opposed to a regular army. I love these yay-hoos who are always talking like they know what they're talking about. Sure, destroy the entire country, and lots of people, I'm certain that will make them like us, and show them that we're the best.

Exactly. We cannot afford militarily to irritate all the people who would be really mad at us if we nuked the mountains of Afghanistan. That says nothing about the lack of understanding about how we can't just nuke someone, anyone. You'd think that someone who got to be on nationwide radio would recognize that we've never nuked any site since WWII, and maybe there's a good reason for that fact.

Ever notice the right wing nut-jobs are always telling us how those crazy little dictators around the world can't be trusted with nukes because they may use them.

And here is the same right wing nut-job advocating their use.

      Go figure?

Thar's COAL in them thar' hills!

Damn the history, full mouth ahead!

First, I hadn't heard that we had "gotten rid of the Taliban" as JoePag says.

Next, if JoePage doesn't think B-52 strikes (like those in 2001) are "going hard at them", well, he's just an idiot.

Finally, we (and the rest of the world combined) don't have enough nukes to "flatten the mountains" - they're kinda big, JoePag.

Maybe we can discover coal there and send in our domestic mountain removal experts, the coal companies.

It's reassuring to see they found a comparable idiot to sub for Beck.

I really hope that it is possible to eliminate all nukes someday. I dread a wacko like these conservative talk show hosts get control of the country.

I think Pags was upset at the interview Gen.McKrystal gave last night on 60 Minutes where the General said our mission was not about killing the terrorists, but the mission was to protect the Afgani people. He also stated he has not spoken to our Commander in Chief in 70 days and only has spoken to him once since he was given Command. The only way to protect the Afgani people is to eradicate the Taliban and Al Queada. If we are not going to fight to win, we should bring our troops home before any more are killed.
The enemy is well aware that we will not call in airstrikes if there are any civilians in the area. While this is very noble, the enemy makes sure that they are always surrounded by civilians which makes our job impossible.

You're lying when you say that Gen McCrystal said that our mission isn't to go after terrorists. He did say that it's vitally important to our mission to not kill civilians. The only way we can "win" is if we win the civilian's hearts.

I understand about not killing civilians, but if our Marines are pinned down and they call in airstrikes, the enemy knows our Rules of Engagement and make sure they are surrounded by civilians. They used the same tactics in Iraq when we let it be known that we would not bomb Mosques. Mosques then became bomb making factories and the enemy set up shop in them. That is one of the drawbacks of making our tactics public.

How in hell do you win the hearts and minds of these people when you're talking about nuking their country killing thousands of people? If that is their solution, why didn't we just nuke Iraq instead of invading it?

Wasn't that one of the jokes back then that we'd destroy their homes and then air drop food for them?
