      Uh-oh, Charlie -- the next time Crazy Annie Coulter, Sean Insanity, Glenda Beck, or Bull OhReally brags about how many weeks their latest book has been on the NYT bestseller list, they're gonna be maaaaad at you . . . ;^)

        At least this story is humorous to follow. Listening to the posters here actually claim that the NYT is not a liberal paper is worth the price of admission.

          The NYT's work as stenographers for the Bush Administration in the run-up to war on Iraq alone makes your claim that the NYT is a liberal paper laughable.

            The NYT has always been, and will always be a liberal paper. The loonly radical hitler loving left is simply never happy with any paper that does not trash every conservative on every issue every time.

                  have you suffered a blow to the head? what kind of signs do you see the teabaggers and town hall mobs holding up? a lot of them are referencing hitler and comparing him to obama, yet you claim the left has a fascination with him? how much more of a ridiculous (and ironic) statement can one make?

              Well HUBPOV, in order for me to join you in reality, it would help if you had some FACTS to present.

              You state unequivocally that "The NYT has always been, and will always be a liberal paper." Do you have any FACTS or EVIDENCE as PROOF of such? {Remember, your opinion does not constitute fact.}

              I suppose it doesn't occur to you that the question of whether a war is justified or not is sort of a major issue. Our troops have died over it, after all.

            Well, they did hire wingnut welfare baby William Crystal for a year or so while he attacked the New York Times on the pages of the New York Times. Oh and they have whiney con-boy Ross Douthat, neo-con war cheer-leader David Brooks and the deranged Tom Friedman. Maureen Dowd originated many of the the false attacks on Gore during the 2000 campaign, and she treats EVERY dem candidate with contempt.

            But you can bet that's not enough to please pointy. Hell, the Times could have Ann Coulter, Dinesh D'souza, Ralph Peters, James Dobson and Michelle Malkin as columnists and the wingnuts would still whining about how liberal the New York Times.

            The wingnuts don't respond to what the Times actually does, they just know it's LIBERAL.

            But didn't Gibson just speak a contradiction by saying that a CONSERVATIVE was a long-time writer for a supposed "LIBERAL" newspaper??

            At least "liberal" media is inclusive enough to have conservatives on staff ...

        It's true, I've read it on the internets.

        OK, it was some wingnut here saying that the NY Times was "in the tank" for Obama, directly below an MMFA item showing the Times repeating some GOP anti-Obama talking point, but that was reality-based. Reality is part of the left wing conspiracy

      The New York Times led the bogus Whitewater "scandal" charge against the Clintons. A reporter for the The New York Times is one of the two who lied about Al Gore claiming to have invented the Internet, thus using a lie to brand HIM a liar. Judith Miller became the mouthpiece of the Bush administration during the run up to the Iraq war. Here's how it worked: A Bush administration official would give Miller a piece of information about, say hidden weapons of mass destruction. She'd repeat it verbatim in one of her "news" stories. Administration officials would then take to other media to claim that there were hidden WMD in Iraq, and cite Miller's story as "proof."

      The New York Times is liberal? As a liberal, all I can say is "I wish."

      Just because they rate books by conservatives doesn't really have an impact on how they do their news. Even the other day, a Times editor said that the Times overlooked a story on ACORN because of their liberal bias.
