Yep you get what you expect from his show nightly and on a lot of the other shows you find out later about how it wasn't told as it was supposed to be.

        Have you see Jesus Camp?
I thought it was just plain scary, the way that they encourage the children to worship G.W.

It was pretty scary, not so much for the part about worshipping Bush, just the rest of it.

I haven't, because I don't really enjoy feeling so sick that I'd want to voimt, or so angry that my head throbs.

Personally, I find it 'just plain scary,' the way that they encourage the children to worship JESUS, let alone any more earthly entity.

THAT'S what I call indoctrination. Religion IS indoctrination. Fundamentalism REQUIRES indoctrination.

Last time I checked, school kids singing about the president was iether patriotic or satirical. (As I recall, back in the first grade, we sang some songs about Jimmy Carter that were hardly complimentary.) (They weren't TEACHER-LED though!)

          --------------------------------------------------------------------
But then, who really expects conservatives to have PRINCIPLES?!

I guess some good came of [the film] though...

            [from wiki]:

In November 2006, Fischer announced that she would be shutting down the camp indefinitely due to negative reaction towards her in the film. According to Fischer's website, the owners of the property used for the camp shown in the film were concerned about vandalism to the premises following the film's release and thus will not allow it to be used for any future camps.

Grady & Ewing are HEROES, in my book.

So let me see if I understand this. It's indoctrination if kids do it and teachers do it without prompting and it mentions Obama by name. It's not indoctrination if kids do it and talk about the administration and FEMA after Hurricane Katrina because that administration was the administration of George Bush. I don't recall seeing or hearing of any stories on Fox news about the Hurricane Katrina group. Is it because the standards of indoctrination have changed?

For FoxNews Channel's Audience, Republicans, Right-wingers, Neo-Conservatives and Conservatives ANY group (both children and adults) who uses "positive" words in song, writings, or speeches about Pres. Obama in ANY of America's public places would be a definite standard of indoctrination which would lead to socialism by the Obama Administration. LOL

Very Good, Jon. I loved the shout out to Hogan's Heroes. By the way, many of the actors in Hogan's Heroes, including Robert Clary, were Jewish, indeed Clary was a survivor of Buchenwald. I can't think of a better way to deal with all this Nazi imagery than by mocking it.

But are all of the parent depicted even parents of the children involved, or did Fixed Spews just trot over to some redneck school and interview parents until they got some really ugly interviews and run those making people think they were talking to the parents of the singing children?

Since when is February "earlier this summer" in Glenn Beck's eyes? This is one the the stupidest non-issues that the right has been outraged about. Complete nonsense, as usual from the right is wrong about this.

Beck wouldn't know the truth if it hit it between his eyes. His faithful following are exactly the same. They truly believe that Glenn "tells IT like IT is." Most of them don't even know what IT is, but Glenn tells IT.

Wow, I wasn't even aware the students were praising other presidents and that all that there were no parental complaints.

If one weren't aware of these things and new only of the video with no context, it would be easy to see how one could disapprove of the event, as I did, or even be whipped into a hysteria about it, if you so chose.

But if your only source of info is Fox news and other right-wing outlets, you are responsible for your ingorance of such details. The reason you didn't hear the other side is because you chose an outlet that you knew wouldn't give it. The viewers of Fox take an active role in their own deception. Thus, when they, in their self-inflicted ignorance, parrot lies and half-truths of Fox news, I consider them to be active participants in the lying.

It is everyone's duty to inform themselves. Self-deception is every bit as destructive as deceiving others. We harm others when we deceive ourselves.

The problem is FOX, et al, is throwing out so much of this misinformation, just like the Senate Republicans adding useless amendments to the Health Care Bill, so as we have to go to incredible lengths in both time resources and energy to research and expose the truth. MM can barely keep up.

Remember FOX is also on in almost every hospital emergency ward, laundromat, diner, bar, 24 hour convenience store, where most people consume information like their fast food.

a sugar rush, no nutrition, but convenient

We have been asking places i.e. Hospitals, Auto Shops, Dealerships, Banks, Convenient Stores, Medical Offices, etc. we have visited to change the channel from FoxNews Channel to either CNN or MSNBC. So far, every place we asked quickly changed from FoxNews Channel and gave crazy excuses as to why the tv was on FoxNews Channel in the first place. Our favorite from the crazy excuses was the Cleaning people keep changing it back to FoxNews Channel when they come in to clean up at night, LOL.

I think people are missing the point about indoctrination.

Those childlike brains are being indoctrinated by Fox everyday.
Most listeners to Fox have no concept about the responsibility of being an adult. They need to be led around and being told what to say. Fox is the "Khmer Rogue"...and Beck is just playing them as idiots because he can see one everytime he looks between his eyes.

      And Tucker is still useless.

Brilliant Jon, I laughed uncontrollably; but the piece also found me scared at the same time. When fear is used to influence and manipulate a group of people that somehow feel threatened, playing on their vulnerability and ignorance to get them “somehow” to rise, is, at best, a cowardly way of going about things. What worries me is that some people actually buy this BS. What next, are we going to burn many of the books that our kids read at school? Surely, using the logic of angry history revisionist Hannity et al, we should start with all those pagan books about Halloween that I saw at the school library and instead replace them with……. You get the picture. I fear for my children’s education as they grow up and are subjected to some of the illogical statements that they will hear from people who repeat without knowing any better what they hear from the right wing noise machine. Please, what happened to reasoned debate? The world is far too complex for these simplistic and dangerous propaganda messages that are paraded as news.
