Because you have evidence at your disposal that proves it is an absurd claim, Lou? Evidence you decided not to share with us plebes? C'mon, Lou. Help a guy out, here. New America Media has been around since 1996, so I'm not finding their claims all that unlikely.
"What do you say to someone who says he's not interested in abridging your First Amendment rights, but just wants you fired from the air?"
Howdy, friend. That's what I'd say. I could also say, sounds like they're exercising their First Amendment rights, just like you're doing. You do know that the First Amendment doesn't guarantee you a position of prominence in the media, right? That, just like Dan Rather, you may some day be out of a job?
"And they keep perpetrating one fraud after another. Whether it's America's Voice, which by the way is just another sham organization created to lobby for amnesty and open borders. Frank Sherry I happen to think is a nice fellow, but that is what he does for a living. It represents no one. It may represent the interests of some, but it represents no one as an organization."
America's Voice? Oh, I visited their website too, Lou. Know what I saw? They are participating in the 'Drop Lou Dobbs' campaign, aren't they? So, when you say they don't represent anyone, you're wrong. If they have joined the 'Drop Lou Dobbs' campaign, then they support me. I want you off the air as well. Not that I expect you to retract that particular lie for little ol' me.
"And we invite them to come on the show. They're not interested in debate or dialog. They are just interested in nonsense. Utter nonsense. And irrationality. And extremism."
Utter nonsense like calling on the first black President to produce his birth certificate, Lou? Like claiming that school children singing about that President is evidence of left-wing propaganda, somehow different from school children singing about our last President in New Orleans? Oh, you meant a different brand of nonsense? I have a hard time distinguishing.
"But, we invite you again, to join us here on the Lou Dobbs Show. We'll be delighted to talk to you, Mr. Lavato, Frank Sherry, you know, the folks over at Media Matters. You all sit on one another's boards, and sit around huddling and chanting in the dark for whatever leftist cause happens to stir you at the moment. Why don't you come on here, we'll just talk empirical evidence, facts, and oh yes! Apply a little reason as well."
Facts and empirical evidence? You're hoping these guests will bring you some, right? Because, for the most part, your show seems woefully short of facts and evidence. Further, I suspect that what you know of reason would fit in a tablespoon with room left over for about 1/2 of a fluid ounce of straight gin. I have belonged to Media Matters for a few months now. I don't know any of the other posters personally, I don't think, but I do know we don't sit around, huddled and chanting in the dark over leftist causes. We don't have a leftist cause. What we do is root out conservative misinformation in the media, and expose it for the the lie that it is. That's all. By the way, Mr. Lavato and Mr. Sherry are not involved with Media Matters, so that part of your 'report' is complete fabrication. You know, a LIE. More of those empirical evidence, perhaps? Mr. Lavato is not on America's Voice staff, and Mr. Sherry is not involved with New America Media. It took me all of five minutes to figure this out, Mr. Dobbs. Too much work for you?
With this kind of 'reporting', you will cause your own media demise before those who disagree with you have you fired, sir. And you will deserve it.
