To quote Rush Limbaugh: "I hope he fails."

Let someone else host the Olympics. It could boost a second or third world country.

I disagree. The 2004 Athens olympics lost billions of dollars because the city (mainly due to being really, really old), didn't have the infrastructure to handle the games. Compare that to Sydney of 2000, a modern who made almost a $2 billion profit.

Leave Beijing out of the equation because they spent billions on covering up the country's flaws.

So, IMO, you need a city with an already strong infrastructure. Chicago is just such a city.

Even they're getting tired of all the stupid crapola? Just before this item I had noticed that we see Bill O'Reilly less and less here on MMFA, which has been dominated lately by the likes of the evil Rush Limbaugh, the idiotic Glenn Beck and the geriatric Lou Dobbs. Even Bill O'Reilly and Ann Coulter now seem tame in comparison. Does that say something about how far from reality the extremist right wing has drifted? Obama is sinister for pushing Chicago for the Olympics? He can't win. These right wingers would obviously prefer that Obama simply not get up one morning...

Yeah.. it's wierd. O'Reilly is easily the "sane" one of the bunch. That is scary.

That's exactly right. If he didn't promote our bid, you can bet that wingnuts would be touting it as evidence of how Obama doesn't care about American interests and is ashamed of American cities.

Obama lobbying for the Olympics really isn't some huge story. Does anyone really care about them anymore? But if Chitown gets it, I feel bad for the residents - the traffic will stink.

I disagree. I watched this on live TV an hour ago and the memory is still fresh.
MMFA is cherry picking their headline.
They both were as full of contempt, hatred of Obama as they ever could be. At some point, when Ann lost her way and was looking into vacuum, O'Reilly even slipped in a life line for her.

The GOP has gotten so nuts that even Coulter thinks they are going overboard.

This must be one of those good cop bad cop routines that Fox Noise sometimes plays in an effort to cling to that fantasy they run 24/7 on that crummy station when they claim to be 'fair and balanced'

Which was brought up by a poster in an earlier thread from this morning (or perhaps last night?) who mentioned that the news is neither fair nor balanced, it is simply the news... but opinions can be fair and balanced, which in the case of Fox Noise is most assuredly not!

what is really sad is that they have reached their creative limit on making up stuff.

Oreilly and Coulter used to be able to make some really good specious facts and then argue coherently about them, but these other guys Hannity and Beck just link a bunch of words together and plug in "Obama" or "liberal" in some part and frown and shake their heads and some guy sitting in a an all-night diner someplace looks up and nods his head in agreement.

I'm picking up some "May-December" chemistry vibe here too . . .O'Reilly seems to smile more lately,

You're so right about Oreilly/Coulter FOX of yesteryear. I have a feeling the incoherent nature of Beck and Hannity can be explained by the mental capacity of their audience. Oreilly and Coulter used logic to connect the lies - i mean "dots".

O'Reilly and Coulter may seem moderate compared to Hannity, Beck, Breitbart, and Limbaugh. They aren't, they are just not stupid.
