That crack about Shumer was moderately amusing, I'll have to admit.
"I rarely get my fill of anything," unintentionally hilarious, IMHOP.

The rest of the rant, really silly. He does seem to be losing it.

Somebody sent me a message on youtube today asking "When has Rush ever said anything racist?"

I sent him about 10 links - all from mediamatters. I'm sure he won't watch any of them and just claim that mediamatters is "biased."

Yes Media Matters is biased, but when you basically have a whole section that is devoted to putting clips of these people talking, in their own words, on their own programs, and they are saying these outrageous things then there isn't much to argue about. It's not like Media Matters is distorting the clips to prove a point, or writing articles that "misquote" the figure - Rush is saying these things every single day and getting away with it and the links to him saying these things prove it.

All the people you named, that are not black, are people on the same team as the leader of the “free world”, who happen to be black. Rush you are a damn liar, because like you, and other idiots, race is the motivating factor behind your attacks and criticism. You didn't want any other President or administration to fail until now. The only people you can fool with this nonsense are the dumb-asses who listen to your radio station.

I honestly don't think Rush is dumb. Rush isn't completely obsessed with conspiracy theories and stuff - he's just evil and mean and likes to smear anyone who isn't on his side ideology wise.

On the other hand, I think Glenn Beck is genuinely stupid. That's just my take - I can see why Rush developed such a following with his racist remarks and his evil musings that can be somewhat witty at times (and his minions never get offended because they think the exact same way about the world), but Beck is not funny and just completely moronic and yet people still watch him blubbering up there at that chalk board and shedding fake tears for America.

Dumb or not Rush speaks out of ignorance and hate. That is not smart.

True, but I think Rush is almost purely evil. He knows what he is doing, he knows how wrong he is, but he says these things anyway because it's in his own personal interest to say these things and he loves the attention. He's absolutely giddy that he's now the face of the GOP. It's the power that he craves - his opinion on something can drastically alter the majority of Republican's opinion on a certain topic. Instead of thinking for themselves they first look to see what Rush has to say about something. And he's cold and calculating enough to not go so far as to damage his propaganda machine permanently.

Beck, for example, went too far with his hate and announced that he thought Obama has a "deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture." Now look what's happened to Beck. Progressives on the left have some ammunition with which they can arm themselves in their campaign to get high profile advertisers to boycott his show. Rush says things like "oreo cookie" and other snide racist remarks that are definitely insulting but not blatantly ridiculous or racist like Beck's statement was. Therefore Rush keeps operating because he doesn't provide enough ammo for his "enemies" to use to oppose him successfully with a boycott or something similar. Plus Rush is strictly talk radio (does he still get played on TV like he did 15 years ago?) which probably helps.

          toobsie:

I agree, I don't think Rush is dumb either, however neither is he intelligent. Rush is smart, he knows the lines that can't be crossed; which is why he has gotten away with so much crud. He is fast talker, and always has an explanation (always bogus)to defend himself. The easily led take him at his word. Intelligent people see through it, and call him on it.

He then feigns anger and outrage, and turns the argument around to those criticizing him. If you listen to him long enough, there are times he sounds like he knows what he is talking about until you realize he is just regurgitating what someone else has told him. A case in point is how the Democrats are going to get health care through Congress. Any political science major in college would be able to deduce the same possible Democratic strategy that he has been talking about. He simply is not that well informed about how Congress works, somebody (Karl Rove, or one of his minions)informed him. Rush's forte is not parliamentary procedure, it is fear mongering, and anger.

He then gets on the radio and sounds well informed on the inner workings and strategies used by Congress. He is fraud.

Like all successful frauds, he is smart, but not intelligent

Yeah I agree, smart but not intelligent. He knows exactly how far he can push the button before he oversteps the invisible boundary and starts taking some serious heat. Beck obviously doesn't know that boundary because his show gets more and more ridiculous every day. If it keeps going like it is now, even the dumbest watchers of his show are going to start thinking... "man this Glenn Beck guy is pretty crazy. Maybe I shouldn't be putting so much faith in his word."

My my my you got that right, irony is lost on conservatives. I can't even listen to Rush because I am uncomfortable with his thinly veiled racism. For a man who is tired of racial discussions he sure seems to bring them up everyday. You first Rush. One of my favorite Rush moments was in 2005 or 06 when he was talking about the Ohio senate race and he mentioned Sherrod Brown, first he mispronounced his name then stated "obviously an African American". WTF Rush?????? How was he obviously an AA? And what did his race have to do with anything? He'll never answer the question and neither will his defenders.
Side note, "race baiters" wasn't that a common code word during the 50' and 60's to describe civil rights activists? What's next calling people northen agitators? Can we please start the 21qst century?
