I could care less about the Olympics, honestly. But the reaction of the right wingers is enough to make me sick to my stomach...

These are the same morons who chant USA! USA! USA! at the drop of a hat and are now celebrating a failure for the U.S. economy and theoretically, U.S. prestige. Cities like Chicago and New York are not considered part of America by this crowd.

Shame on these ignorant fu*k% for smearing then laughing because Chicago lost the olympic bid. Tell that to the people who were hoping that Chicago recieved the bid. How many jobs that would have created or the overall tourism that would have created for the city! He and everybody else who wanted Chicago to lose just because they want to see Obama fail in everything he touches are selfish retards!

Houston was in the bidding a number of years ago. I actually did a lengthy research project on the economic benefits of hosting the Olympics. There was a lot of disappointment when Houston was deemed unfit to host the Olympics.

Also, Salt Lake City got the Winter Olympics, but it was later revealed that massive amounts of corruption were involved. Let's see Glenn Beck explain that one....

Among one of the reasons the US was not chosen - the bombing in Atlanta in 1996 by an anti-abortion group.

It's disappointing that we didn't get the Olympics. It's also disappointing to see such a popular figure be so excited to see America fail. I do think it was the right choice, though. At least these nutcases can't terrorize Chicago like they did Atlanta.

Along with their irrational opposition to any kind of healthcare plan for all, the right-wing have now exposed themselves as simply being petty partisans on anything associated with our duly elected President.

Even if a proposal from Obama will obviously benefit our country and citizens, these wingnuts are so willing to loyally follow the lead of such serial haters as Limbaugh and Beck to oppose such a plan, even if they don’t understand why. They have already shown that they will actually campaign to protect the profits of monopolistic insurance companies and their outrageous executive pay packages while pretending they are defending democracy and the “free market”, Then they tell Congress to vote against our own self-interests because a public healthcare option leads to “socialism and communism” even if that has not been proven true in any other democratic country that has a public health plan.

Now they are joyfully cheering against America for losing out on an Olympic bid in this latest episode of right-wing lunacy simply for the transitory pleasure of believing it hurts Obama’s credibility. The only credibility damaged is that of any conservatives who revel in such lunatic fringe triumphalism.

The thought occurred to me that it was the rantings of the echo chamber which caused the USA to be denied. If you were from another country and you saw the idiocy which is spewing forth on our televisions EVERY NIGHT, would you feel safe sending your athletes here?

This "I hate Obama" thing is getting a little out of hand...

I'm conservative. I really have no interest one way or the other if the Olympics are in the US in 2016. All the hype, all the expectations about this came from the left, and the perception that our President could just show up and close the deal WAS the hype. Hey, we'll even throw in Michelle and Oprah. I remember hearing...

This whole Olympic issue is small and insignificant in the big picture. I am simply amused as apparently Glenn Beck is at the reaction on the left as the script they wrote got a re-write by the IOC.

Obama doesn't seem to carry the clout with the rest of the world some like to believe. If you voted for this and aren't so blinded by ideology to be objective about how poorly Obama represents America on the world stage I hope you take a closer look at principles this country was born from.

I have to add... not because it concerns me, but I thought it concerned liberals... what is the carbon footprint of this trip? How much $$$ that could have been better spent on education? Good luck spinning this... it's sad, not important.

I view myself as a conservative, Rockefeller Republican; That said, I am disgusted by those in the media who openly attack the President of the United States, his programs, his policies and his attempts to clean up the mess the past administration created.

If you need a reminder: way back in the year 2000, the price of a gallon of gasoline was $1.46. I wonder who benefited the most from the rise in the price at the pump?

In my opinion, the actions of talk show hosts (who are entertainers dependent on ratings for survival) who openly want our President, and our country to fail, border on treasonous. I feel the same about elected senators and representatives who openly undermine the efforts of the President to repair our crappy economy.

I will definetly remember their actions when I vote in the next few elections.
