And there you have it, folks. The slippery slope of conservatism is upon us.

How far will it go? Nobody knows, but history indicates it never ends well.

Nobody knows, but history indicatesit never ends well.

And not a moment too soon!!!

If ever a pray of mine is to be answered, it would be the one where this brand of conservatism is taken so far to the right that it literally feeds upon itself to where it simply dies off into the dust bin of history!

To all you normal decent conservative that are left, perhaps it might be time to create your own new party?? Because as long as slugs like Hannity and Rove are given this imaginary power over the party you are part of... well, I think you can fill in the rest of where this is going.

Actually, nothing more fun than to see the far right imploding against each other. Although I give Scarborough a pass on this one. For once, some one on the right stood up to the bullies and called them out. Bout time I say. Thanks Joe for telling it like it is!!!!!

Rove has been involved in more controversies than any politician in the past 50 years. This guy is preaching about liberties and such... He should be in jail for the disrespect that he showed for the American public. How can ANYONE take this guy seriously? Even completely non-bias sources link him to at least ten different controversies.

I've been hoping for him to get caught in his criminal activity for years. He prides himself in being able to get away with his crap. Had a friend like that . . . drove blitzed out of his mind for 35 years, always bragged about how he never got caught because he could "handle" his booze. He was wrong . . . a year with a suspended license and probation taught him that he was wrong.

They don't call Karl Rove the architech for nothing. Little do people know; but Karl Rove is behind most of Fox New' negative coverage of President Barack Obama. Karl Rove is diabolical in his thinking and in his actions. Karl Rove has a masterplan for everything he is involved with and he is willing to do what the next man won't do in order to achieve a goal. It was Rove who encouraged Television to darken Obama's skin during the Presidential debates and he told the neworks what to say if anyone ask about it. Rove was behind John McCain's negative ads and smereing against Obama. You wonder why John McCain didn't put forth policies during his campaign against Obama. Karl Rove told John McCain there was no need for that when you campaign against a black man. All you have to do is make people scare of him.
Karl, behind the scene, is running Fox News and he told all the talk show hosts to undermind, criticize and attack Obama at every turn. Is that not what Fox is doing?

It's so sad to see thousands of people stuck in a manufactured hate bubble. Fox and it's viewers have no conception of reality, they don't even have a clue about American history. Certainly not politics. Go ahead Sean, attack your own party it'll make you guys number 1!!

I would describe Rove as "influential" not "in control."

Go back to interviews with journalists involved in the outing of Valerie Plame. Rove is very good at playing upon people's egos and their fears. He discovered that all people who have risen to the top fear falling back to where they came. They have fragile egos he can both boost (see Dubya) and pop. He would scare reporters that they "were getting ahead of the story." Or that "how naive are you going to look when we find WMD?"

Rove's skills are social engineering, undermining people's confidence in what they know to be true and accurate, and replacing that certainty with doubt that he can then stoke.

How do you know all of these things. Not that they don't sound feasible, but seriously, your post sounds like a left wing Glenn Beck conspiracy theory that includes mystery, intrigue, and diabolical connections. Nothing personal, but please provide some insight as to how you arrived at these conclusions of yours.

So, according to Karl Rove, McCain is relevant to party leadership even though he lost the bid for Presidency?

"Our message of conservative values is attractive to all Americans." Well, not to all Americans, no. See, we have elections every so often, and the conservatives got beaten election before last, and absolutely whupped last election.

The 'blue dogs' are miscreant puppies, and I hope they are spanked for piddling on the carpet. They need to support their party and at the very least prevent a Republican filibuster. Hey, Sean, if you want a story, start buttonholing Senators and find out who will go on record as being willing to oppose an attempted cloture vote on health reform! Oh, but that would be journalism, wouldn't it? And it might inform your viewers, the shame of it all. Hey, it might even draw new viewers, like me!

Lately, any time I hear a story on cable/TV that's NOT about health care, I consider it a distraction. Health care. Health care! HEALTH CARE! Keep it in the forefront of the news, make the focus of every broadcast. Force those opposed to continue lying and being exposed in their lies until we get it passed. THEN we can move on to what Karl Rove thinks.

So, David Brooks' greatest sin is that he likes Obama. Not that he agrees with the President, but rather that he "likes" him.
Jon Stewart is right, they hate Obama more than they love America. They will take down Obama no matter how much it hurts our country.

To reply to my own post, the "America" they love is not such a great place anyway. Obama has a better one in mind and it has nothing to do with the lies Hannity and his ilk have been spreading.

Listen to Karl Rove talk; he once said that “Democracy is much too precious to be left to the voters. Lucky for us electronic ballots make it a lot easier to fix an election than it used to be”.
You notice Rove never talks about his solutions to the country, instead he is always more interested in lying and deception and creating a false image of the Republican Party.
Despite eight years of disaster under Republican rule, Karl Rove have trouble acknowledges any wrong doing by Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld.
Rove doesn’t even want to criticize John McCain (or Sarah Palin) for the lousy campaign they ran, and lost.
Look at all the hypocrisy Republicans engaged in during their time in power. This is of no concern to Karl Rove.
Karl is angry at those in the Party who want to change for the better.
Karl wouldn’t change a thing about the Republican Party and those who speak out against the Party “should know better” says Karl.
Karl Rove is a diabolical man with a sick twisted mind.
Here are more statements attributed to Karl Rove. You be the judge.

Referring to Republican candidates running for office Rove was quoted as saying “when the issues are all against you, offer another tax cut and show a little public piety (if you can fake a tear, even better). The rubes (base of the Party) fall for it every time”. Karl Rove

“Anti-war demonstrators and others opposed to our politics have to be branded anti-American. Media hacks and radio talk show hosts will reinforce this message” Karl Rove

“Who leaked our plan to eliminate overtime pay for workers? That was supposed to wait until after 2004. Get that son-of-a-b#@ch on a small, poorly serviced plan ASAP”. Karl Rove

“When journalists ask questions about our fudged war rationales, question their sanity and motives for implying that the POTUS (Bush was President) would ever lie”. Karl Rove

“It doesn’t matter who’s elected governor of California—just that we get control of their elections, like we had in Florida in 2000, makes for an easy fix”. Karl Rove

“I’ve burned my phone logs and deleted my emails, but if I go down I’m taking the rest of you bastards with me. Get Tenet to ease-up or I’ll spill my guts”. Karl Rove

“Characterize our critics as pathological Bush haters when they accuse us of failed policies, respond that they’re hoping for a bad economy, Iraq quagmire, etc”. Karl Rove

“Media consolidation is our 2nd highest priority (after packing the courts) with our friends controlling the news media, it’ll be much easier to manipulate public opinion”. Karl Rove

With one single request, I will be happy to display more of Karl Rove’s diabolical mind, which he, himself, kept notes of. manofmystique

To the "cat" is out the bag:

More notes from Karl Roves' secret playbook Archive:

"McCain positioned himself by calling for more troops in Iraq-not ever dreaming that Dubya would call his bluff and actually do it. I almost feel sorry for the poor bastard". Karl Rove

"Libby played us perfectly- publicly threatening to call me and Cheney to the stand, under oath. Once Dubya agreed to the pardon, Libby played ball and used the lame 'I forgot' defense we demanded". Karl Rove

Our opponents must support our Iraq policy or they shall be 'hurting the troops'. Continuing the occupation shall mean 'supporting the troops''. OUR MEDIA ASSETS WILL REINFORCE THIS". Karl Rove

"Libby's commutation keeps him from spilling his guts to Fitzgerad to avoid jail time, and still allows him to plead the Fifth if testifying is congress. Dangling a pardon still gives US LEVERAGE" Karl Rove

"If the Dems won't impeach Fredo after catching him lying under oath, it proves they're too timid to ever challenge us. From now on, we stonewall everything: Testimony, documents-- everything". Karl Rove

"Enjoying my 'vacation'. We will see if Congress has the balls to indict me. Meanwhile, I've got work to do--we can't slip up like in 2006. We must fix the 2008 election so it stays fixed" Karl Rove

"I bet Dick Morris that I can get our 'base' to believe that we went into Iraq because the Democrats forced us to. I've already got Hannity and those idiots on Fox and Friends convinced". Karl Rove

Any feedback would encourage me to post more of Karl Rove playbook Archive

Is it my imagination or are the real right wing crackpots and nutjobs now going after the more moderates in their party?

I see this clip on MMFA with Hannity, and I think there was 2 or 3 from El-Rushbo today, attacking other moderate republican media figures.

Maybe I need make some popcorn for tomorrow and watch them kill each other off.
