This is GOP conservative right-wing talking point #3, if I have the order correct.

I had to laugh at George Will's op-ed today where he actually counted the number of times that both Barack AND Michelle Obama used "I" or "me" in their Olypmic pitch speeches and claimed that showed that they were egostic.

        G. F. Will should stick to his climate warming denial expertise.

That just goes to show how much of a egomaniac he is, those speaches were not for Chicago or the US it was for him. That was a direct reflection of him. He didn't care if Chicago got it he just wants to be in the spot light all the time saying look at me!!!

Buchanan is known to saying stupid and ridiculous stuff about black people and this is no exception. Obama could not get as far as he has by acting like some kind of "messiah". Obama is only interested in doing the job he was elected to do. People want "hope" and Obama gave them that. Obama said "yes we can". Obama also said that "If we work together, WE can change the world". Obama never said that he alone has the power to do any of those objectives. More fear and stupidity from white people.
There are people who see Obama as a messiah. So what?, that's them.
That shouldn't stop Obama from doing his job. White people are showing their true colors by being silly.

Well, if that's the case, why is it the ONLY people I hear referring to Obama that way are wingnut conservatives??

If it wasn't for the fact that some people actually take Pat seriously, this would be funny.

The reason the right wing has so openly embraced called Obama "The One" or "The Messiah" or talk about his supporters worshipping him is because they know that kind of rhetoric will infuriate the religious population in America (and elsewhere). They know the exact wording they need to use to rile up the conservative base and they are spewing it on the airways to get as much of a rise out of people as possible.

I think Pat Buchanan is right on the money, Obama does think he is the messiah. What a shame that the president of the united states acts in this manner. what a disgrace to the office and the american people. This president has destroyed the ambition and drive of the american people.
Pat Buchanan was also right on illegal immigration,it has just about destroyed this country.taking care of illegal immigrants is like having a family of eight and only two people working in the family trying to take care of the other six, just ask yourself how long they can do this without the other six trying to help. My last thing may God Bless America.

I find myself agreeing with Buchanan. I hate the guy but he has a point - people fight for the things they care about. Obama might want reform but he sure as heck isn't putting up any sort of fight to get the public option or major cost control measures into the bill. When LBJ fought for medicare and medicaid, he really did some arm twisting. He was ruthless in his determination to not allow congress to rip away the key components of a bill even if it resulted in no bill in the end because he would rather have nothing at all than try to save face without some piece of junk legislation. Im sure LBJ and Obama were different people and they have their own way of going about things but obama's way is frustrating because it really seems like he just wants to pass something, anything regardless of what it actually says - the speech was a nice start but where is the muscle behind it? That speech reminded me of the law that resulted in the desegregation of schools - yea, it was nice but in the end, all it did was talk and words are cheap. The action that was taken in order to enforce the law was what actually resulted in genuine change. If obama wants real change, he has to stop this bipartisan nonsense - this dancing around the issue to try and please everyone is not the platform he ran on and in the end, it will just make him look weak and a fake.
