And I think it's sweet that Rush is reliving his petulant adolescence. "You're not the boss of me! I'll do what I want!"

Well, okay Rush if you don't want to. But you absolutely MUST keep the toaster out of the tub while you're bathing. Kathleen Sebelius unwaveringly forbids you to heat up your pop-tarts in the tub while you're in it.

I googled this, and cannot find any quote from Sebelius saying you "must" get the shot. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.)

Since the goal is to immunize 50% of the country I think republicans would be doing the country a great service if they all refused to get immunized. Not only would it help ensure that people who want it get it, it will help with their victim status when only republicans start catching it and die from it.

Yesterday, I googled information to see if I could get a flu shot next Thursday, and still be able to donate blood on the following Tuesday. I haven't gotten flu shots in the past, but having come down with pneumonia after getting a virus, I have decided that I should be careful. Rush, if you want to play fast and loose with your health, by all means, go ahead, but to do it for spite for someone who doesn't even care is really silly, regardless of the outcome.

By coincidence, I got a flu (seasonal, not Swine) shot Monday, forgetting that I had an appointment to give blood yesterday. They checked, and told me that 24 hours was a sufficient lead time.

My respects for being a donor.

        BLEEDING HEART ALERT

I learned yesterday that 1/3 of all of us will, at some time in our lives, need blood or blood products, that 60% of us are medically eligible to donate, and that only 2% of us do so. Pretty sad.

Yes, I meant to include the lack of a waiting period in my post but got distracted. As long as you feel well, they will be happy to take your blood. I have gotten my husband to donate, and one of my daughters. I am still working on the other one, she is a bit needle shy. They like it when we donate as we share a rarer blood type. I would also encourage people to sign up to be organ donors. There is no cost to the person donating their organs, and it could save a lot of lives. One of my favorite Newman Center priests gave a homily that it was our duty to be organ donors if we could. Make sure your family knows about your plans.

Right. O- is universal, O+ is about 85% universal.

You can also give platelets every five days or so, and there's a constant need for them both O's are universal for platelets.

It's good you've got your kids donating. My sons do, too. We've also filled out the organ donor cards.

I've noticed that, at least where and when I donate, the vast majority of donors are, like me, silver foxes. If there's a chronic shortage of available blood now, what's it going to be like when we're no longer around or able to donate? The younger ones have got to start stepping up.

I think they need to do a better job advertising. I haven't seen any commercials recently. Where I go, my church hall, my office and the local Red Cross, I see a mix of ages. I think it is a great idea. I've seen blood drives done at high schools. I think this is a great way to get younger donors involved. You never know when you will need blood, so it is good to step up when you can help someone else. What about a commercial showing one person being inspired by another to give blood.

Good. Anyone in the country who doesn't want to immunized or who does not want "gov't run" healthcare should have the right to not use it.

But, Rush, you really should get out more and hang out with people...like in shopping malls.

Can we persuade "Miss Sebelius" to tell Rush that he must not eat rat poison?

More evidence of the far right's devolution into bratty 5 year olds. This fits right in with the dittobots plan to leave all of their lights on, use tons of toilet paper, and drive around like zombies in their SUVs.
You can't tell them what to do !
Well, not if it's anything sensible. Rush can talk them into sticking pencils in their eyes, as long as he can find a clip of a Dem saying it's not good to stick a pencil in your eye.

Considering that Rush is at the age where he is considered low risk to even GET H1N1 . . . who cares? I won't be taking it because I can't due to the pre-existing medical condition which prevents me from getting insurance. Every year, I just pray that I don't get the flu . . . I'd just have to tough it out.

In most communities, you can get free flu shots. They ask for a donation, but you don't have to give anything.

On top of that, I am fairly sure that the federal govt is providing the swine flu vaccine at no cost - the only cost is the administering costs associated with it. Normally you're paying for the vaccine and the person to stick you.

Keep reading your local paper - I bet there'll be an opportunity for you to get the swine flu shot at no cost.

      Limbaugh:"[I] don't get flu shots!"

Truth be told, if you fail to recieve proper treatment from the many different flu strains, and other such illnesses, then you suffer the disease that is Rush Limbaugh.

Incoherent rants of political conpiracies, fearmongering, and compulsive lying are few among the many effects of this disease.

Please contact your doctor if you suffer one or more of these symptoms.
