When the commentary turns to personal attacks regarding a person's dress or looks... how can anyone possibly seriously?

How shallow and vacant has Glenn Beck become...

We have regressed to the second grade.
Look at yourself Glenn... you're a silly poopy pants... you look like Charlie Brown...

sigh... and people listen to him and believe him.... fail

Yes you are right about that, this kind of reminds me of blk_in_alabama's comments about Michelle Bachmann over the last few days. Of course nobody objected to those comments. Or any number of comments about Palin, Ingraham, Coulter, etc, etc, etc. We see those here regularly.

The flexible standards of the left rears it's ugly head once again.

Actually, if you read what I wrote, instead of inferring, you will see that I suggested that both people should be punished in the same manner for the same offense. Anything beyond that is a misread of what I clearly stated.

You're not surprised by the hypocrisy by the lefties here, are you? Disparaging comments about Coulter's looks are commonplace on here. Of course when Beck rudely comments about the looks of others, he's "shallow," "vacant" and acting like a 2nd grader, but when the geniuses on this site personally attack Coulter for the way she looks or dresses, it's considered clever.

So are you saying that because you are not religious that gives you the right to mock someones looks?

If that is an example of your values perhaps you should look into religion. Obviously you are not doing so well on your own.

So are you saying that Glenn Dreck... who claims to be religious... has the right to mock someone's looks? We've all seen you post your all too predictable and deeply banal 'liberals are hypocrites' meme, but you have yet to address doughboy's smirking serial assaults on the appearances of others. Are you really all right with that? If not, then you are abundantly exhibiting the hypocricy that you are constantly accusing others of. If, however, you ARE okay with Dreck's tactics, then you are simply another mean-spirited, reich wing lowlife.

Of course it matters. You really think that an anonymous poster on a website has the same influence as someone with both national television and radio shows? how are they equivalent? The sad fact is that people list to glenn beck. I've posted many times on this website, but I don't think I've reached the same number of people as Beck. Do you?
Don't get me wrong, I agree that no one should attack someone else on the basis of their looks, but if you're glenn beck, who is attempting to engage in political and social discourse, this ends up being grossly irresponsible.

No one needs to castigate Glenn Beck. He makes it clearly obvious that he is a hate monger, much in spite of his religious affiliation. He is not a walking recommend for his Church and he should be a lot more careful about his behavior. Frankly, his behavior is not in compliance with our religious teaching at all.

I guess by your standards that makes the behavior acceptable? The fact that a poster does noy have a TV or radio show. I see it is not the behavior that is wrong it is the person doing it? So if I wanted to ridicule Michelle Obama for her appearance or clothing it would be OK because I do not have a show of my own? Is that the standard? Perhaps you will enlighten us and explain your standard?

Yes and sad to say, Beck is a member of a Church that teaches exactly the opposite from his disgusting hate mongering. Further, his language is totally inappropriate for some one of his faith and his behavior is a sad thing to those of us who are members of the same church. Poor thing resorts to the vilest sorts of comments about others totally prohibited by our faith and particularly by Christ.. I find his language totally embarrassing for our church.

"Do you dare," what a funny challenge on a message board. Moreover, phrases like "this crowd" are somewhat unhelpful. By virtue of being here and posting, you become part of "this crowd" yourself. So, I guess that there is a degree of self-implication going on with your statement. Personally, I would rather discuss the issue and not use language that is not helpful in the debate. You will (or maybe you haven't) note that I do not use such language. To take you up on your challenge, then, I critique anyone who resorts to name calling as a means of debate. There, that was easy. Now, may we return to the actual idea that it is problematic for a person who makes his living on a news channel to use language such as "burns your eyes out" when discussing a public figure? Or, shall we all snipe at each other some more?

Palin at 67 I think not

Beck was an abused little boy with self esteem problems, who has latent homosexual problems that he has yet to deal with.

I've heard Nancy Reagan's memoirs were edited to cut out the section where she said how disgusting it was for Ronnie's neck skin to flap in her face when they made love. ;>)

He meant to say "burns your eyes out...Look at the neck skin ... she looks like a turkey" in a deeply religious way, being the deeply religious guy that he is.

In Beck's case, the ill effects of being a dry cokehead trumps any pretension to religious faith.

I like Madeleine Albright, and I like her pins, I wear a lot of pins myself. I think it was neat how she chose them to send messages. I wonder what kind of pin she would choose for Glennie. I don't like him, and I don't think he will be nearly as well-maintained at 72 as Ms. Albright.

When he says stuff like this I say:

Beck apparently has embelished the tragedy of his mother's death. The police and coroner reports categorize her death an accident. Beck has for years said she committed suicide. Very sad either way. But, he can clear up the questions by producing the suicide note he claims to have seen. I would prefer to have the long form original note examined by Attorney Orly Taint.

It's the Vicks Vaporub, Glenn, you really should stop using it to create tears so often. It says right there on the label to keep it away from your eyes. As much as you use it, you've probably damaged your eyes.

Does Glenn think that if he trashes the physical appearance of others it will somehow make everyone overlook the fact that his own head looks like a balloon about to pop?

Given that this is comment #49, clearly his approach isn't working.

I'm not the one resorting to personal attacks about a bad taste in humor because there are no facts/misinformation to attack instead. The issue is I have not seen any objective evidence here, only "this is bad because you are supposed to be offended for some reason!" without even explaining why. I have no problem with opinions, but please, back them up.

If there is misinformation, speak out, please! This, however, is just stupid.
