First of all, lady, you have the chance to opt out. Be ignorant and do it, but allow the other parents to make the choice for their own children.

And when did SOCIAL JUSTICE be a bad thing? Isn't that what those crazy religious conservatives are trying to take out of the revised conservative Bible?

A while ago I got the following junk mail. It was the most insane junk mail I had ever gotten, so naturally I scanned it. Unfortunately I had to work and couldn't attend any of the meetings. I'm thinking it would have been a once in a lifetime experience...

Anyway. Turns out it's from the "Seventh-day Adventist Church". Interestingly enough, if you go to the site for the LDS Church, they seem to reference these guys a lot. And not in a bad way. In a "I like their imagery and writings" kind of way. Sorry for the huge images.

I thought these folks were lunatic fringe. But apparently not.. given what we are learning about Glenn Beck's massive following.

I should save that to my HD.
I collect various wingnutocrats (wingnut theocrats) publications, besides the RNC polls that I've gotten from various sources (see my blog at dittobusters.com). The classic CHICK comics, and just got a Watchtower from the laundromat yesterday.

Better comedy than late night TV.

Actually, the Mormon Church, the Seventh Day Adventists, and the Jehovah's Witnesses, all started out in upstate New York in a close proximity to each other and around the same time period. You have to wonder what was in the water. In Loma Linda, CA, the mail is delivered on Sunday, because the town was founded by 7th Dayers (David Koresh got his start here, too.)

Brilliant. I'm sure that Bekkky is all for the reichwing (nods to Snoopy) group that is now cleansing the Bible (what was it that Mike Huckabee called it, the "unchanging word of God!"?) of anything that doesn't seem capitalist or conservative enough, even the "woman taken in adultery" story. Democracy and social justice are evils, oligarchy and corporatism (Mussolini's preferred word for Fascism) are the way to go, in the name of freedom.

Also loved the way he knew what a group he'd never heard of before the call was thinking.

And the Catholic Church is really big into Social Justice and I don't have a problem with it. Why doesn't he talk about the strong radical, racist, apocalyptic, survivalist strain in the LDS church, the church that he claims to have a deep faith in. This same technique of drilling down the list of memberships of organizations led to the Boy Scouts being declared a communist front organization in the 1950's. And why doesn't he address the lying, racist, red-baiting fanatacism of his hero, W. Cleon Skousen? All he has done is make this woman question her church. Maybe she shouldn't be Catholic, if her instinct is to reject social justice, but then, she rejects Jesus, too. Glenn, you are just proving how really evil you are.

But don't you see, this "social justice" concept is just pure Eeville. I'm sure that when the framers of the constitution were opening the pandora's box of human rights, they had no idea that they would be releasing such eeville in the form of social justice.

"if you see anything thats talks about a strong democratic movement or strengthening democracy, you're in trouble. If you see anything about social and economic justice, you're in trouble."

      WTF!!!!!

Democracy and justice are dangerous to Authoritarians like Beck and the corporate paymasters he defends. BECK IS CORPORATIST WHO HATES FREEDOM, JUSTICE, AND THE AMERICAN WAY!

      Using God and the churches?

Why is it that Jimmy Carter or John F. Kennedy have to reaffirm America that their faith would not interfere with their governing.

Beck's listeners should follow Beck's advice. He says to not take things at face value and to question things that claim to "strengthen democracy"... isn't that what he does?

Beck also fails to mention in his warped view that we have three branches of government to protect abuses of the government... but I guess revolutionaries have been laying their eggs for years and have penetrated all levels of government...

Kid: Mom, why won't you let me go to the art program at school and get my picture on a cup??

Mom: Because your school hired a group that's a member of a group that's having a convention about social justice, and that's what Hugo Chavez and Reverend Wright wanted.

      Kid: Oh.

She could have been more honest and simply explained to the kid that the guy who helped point her evil school out to her wants to beat people with a shovel and had his views shaped by a guy who supported slavery.

So if Beck and his minions are against "social justice," what exactly are they for?

      Here are the options:

Anti-social justice (i.e., a loner attacks Beck and gives him a lobotomy)

Social injustice (i.e., a group of community activists raise enough money to buy a new house for Beck)

Anti-social injustice: (i.e., a loner raises enough money to buy a new house for Beck)

Knowing Beck, my money is on #2 or #3.

You'd think you'd be safe from things like social justice at a Catholic school. I turned it off after that.

I think that if the church wants to threaten to expel anyone who's in favor of family planning they should threaten to do the same to those who call themselves Catholics but reject the concept of social justice.

So old Glennie is going to have "evidence" about the churches next week. Should be a pretty "interesting" week !

Anyone want to bet the LDS church will be on that list? You know the church that is so secretive you need to be a card carrying member, just to look inside their temple in Salt Lake.
