You seem to be totally clueless to the fact that the there is absolutely no credibility to this award. It cheapens and politicizes the award in a way that is damaging to the world.

This is not an accomplishment, it is an embarrassment of enormous magnitude.

I don't think most people have the slightest clue how the effect of this will play out.

Well after 12 days in office and he was nominated-- we Need 40,00 or more troops in Afghanistan to win but if the world stage wants to influence the decision give him the Noble peace prize for no good reason.

Obama put McCrystal in the position now he as made a request for more troops and he is being stone walled.

Obama and the democrats for 8 years and on the campaign trail said Afghanistan is the right war- well then do something our troops are getting killed.

Obama on the campaign trail said Al Qaeda was the enemy. The administration has not denied troops. They are evaluating the strategy. Are we there for nation building purposes or to defeat the people that attacked us? Will 40,000 more troops in Afghanistan accomplish anything? What is the best goal for our country? I'm glad that we have a President that realizes the importance of taking time to review things. We saw how much trouble a "decider" that made no mistakes that he was aware of over the previous 8 years could get us into. McCrystal's call for more troops may be what we need for the current strategy - but is the current strategy the correct one?

I agree the Nobel committee jumped the gun on this one. I think it makes more sense to give this award to a world leader after the end of his term, or at least after tangible accomplishments can be pointed to.

However, this cannot be construed as bad news for America, or for the cause of world peace. While it may damage the credibility of the Nobel Peace Prize itself, you can't blame Obama for the fact that they gave him the award, and if it strengthens his position in the eyes of the world, that can only be positive.

Carter gave away the Panama Canal. I wonder what Obama is going to give away.

I am a little surprised and glad to hear that President Obama has been given this award.

My first gut reaction was "how is the right-wing gonna spin this one?"

It's true that Obama is in the early stages of his presidency and would be hard to tell how his ideas will pan out, but I think the committee looked at his current and potential impact on the world stage.

OMG... That blonde host just pulled a Kanye Westish move.

Maybe Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize because he made brokering world peace a campaign promise, and then when he become president, he immediately took real steps to broker world peace instead of saying "Once I do this stuff, I get to that World Peace thing I promised."

Please don't make a mockery of this Right-Wingers. Be proud of your president's accomplishment, just this once. Please?

This Nobel Prize winner is a no-brainer. It is no surprise Fox News would have an issue with this. This is nothing more than hate, envious and stupidity from the lying "fair and balanced" network.
I heard Obama speak to the world and there is no doubt in my mind he deserve this honor, which includes 1 million dollars.
While Obama is using diplomacy to improve foreign relations and bring about peaceful resolutions, Fox News continue to act like immature children.
If they had an award for treason Fox News should win it hands down.

This is all just sour grapes because they can't control how the world perceives the President and it annoys them. They rant about international apology tours, and that the world won't respect us, and then this happens. It makes them look bad, so they have to throw mud at the Nobel Committee now. Great fun to watch them run themselves through the wringer.

Isn't it obvious? They share the same religion AND they have both been compared to Hitler AND I'm pretty sure he wasn't born in the United States either. Your ability to not immediately pick up on these things tells me, sir, that you have not been watching long enough. You'll catch on soon though, no worries!

In truth, I'm surprised they didn't run the "Obama bowing" footage. They must have really been too "stunned" to even do a hit piece properly this morning. I expect better Fox.

Exactly. He was nominated less than 2 weeks into his presidency. The awarding of this prize has little to do with Obama as President, but Obama, as the man, has done great things toward diplomacy and good will. Just heard on the radio, also, that the Committee has stated that people get the intent of this particular prize wrong . . . the intent of the prize is not to award people for things that they have already done, but to encourage them to continue on the path they are on . . . it's about ENCOURAGING PEACE.

Can somebody explain to me how in the world a WAR-TIME president can win the Nobel PEACE Prize?

What an embarassment. Liberals shouldn't be praising this. At least Carter deserved his award.

I am very proud to have a president who has been awarded such a prestigious accolade. It's a big day and gosh darn-it, Fox is stealing that thunder. NOT! The insane desperation we get to witness today from the Fox/Drudge camp will only be icing on this delicious cake. Yippie! We probably get to watch Glen Becks vein pop out in his forehead and his head explode like the guy in Scanners.

Well gee winkies, if it was on Saturday Night Live then what the heck was I thinking?

Embarrassment? I suppose I am but not for me. For those with such obvious hate for the man, so much so that they wet themselves over any tiny thing that could be spun into making him look like the devil incarnate.

An award was given to a man I think is deserving. If you don't, that's cool but perhaps if you can't have the good form to congratulate our president on this achievement, you could at the very least not criticize those who do.

I don't hate the president, but he is undeserving of the Nobel Peace Prize. It's a mockery. Although I guess I shouldn't be surprised. After all, they also awarded the Nobel Peace Prize to Yasser Arafat. That's really when the Nobel folks lost their credibility.
