Opinion masquerading as news analysis. What basis does she have to make her statement that: "[M]oderates"and "independents" may not "want a president who seems like he's the darling of European capitals."
And they always seem to use the language of the conservatives.

Wow! Never saw that comin'! <:)

Maybe, just maybe, moderates and independents like the fact that we have a president who's liked and respected in other countries, rather than one who's an embarrassment and a bully.

I'll tell you what, I would much rather have a President who is seen as the darling of the European capitals than one who is seen as an arrogant, power-hungry, imperialist as the previous President was viewed or the cowboy, his hero, Ronald Reagan was viewed. The United States has made some enemies and lost some friends, it is good to see someone come along and try to make up for some of that. In the long run, it will make our lives easier, and our citizens safer.

Yep, we're losing friends quickly under this administration. He continues to thumb his nose at our traditional allies like Great Britain, Canada, Israel and Poland.

Losing friends quickly??? Your delusional. Sort of like Cheney/Rumsfeld calling "old" Europe obsolete when
Germany and france wouldn't support our illegal and umjust invasion of Iraq. Now where losing friends quickly? Utter hyprocrisy!

The great Guthrie Gasbag knows what moderates and independents want.

Hey, my crystal ball tells me that moderates and independents WANT us to move closer to the Europeans.

Uh-huh. That MUST be why Obama had the HIGHEST favorability rating among independent voters -- according to the Fox Comedy Channel, no less . . .

It's just amazing that suddenly winning the Nobel peace prize is a bad thing, which Presidents should shun! (They might be perceived as being liked by Europeans!!) This is the media falling right into the nonsense that the Neocons have been perpetrating for years: A U.S. that's trying to be more cooperative with other countries is somehow weak. If other countries like us I guess we must be doing something wrong. LOL Savannah Guthrie has absolutely no intellectual heft, is in a position way above what she is qualified for, and should be one of MSNBC's weather people -- nothing higher than that.

I didnt realize the noble peace prize was considered catering to European capitalists? And since when did the media not want to cater to capitalists?? But I hardly find the connection between Gore and the panel on climate change and corporate execs. How about the UN atomic energy agency and corporate CEOs? Nope, dont quite see it. Kenyan environmentalist, Iranian human rights activist? How about the carter center that is dedicated to eradicating disease, preventing famine, immunizations, fair elections and advocating for human rights?? Im sorry but where in the world is the link between these people/NGOs and European capitalists. She acted like the link was obvious but I would really have to dig and twist the truth to come up with that.

The only ridiculously obvious and unsightly link I see with capitalists is congressman. They draw these incredibly tenuous assumptions that the noble peace prize is decided based on corporate friendliness yet, don't bother to mention how much lobbying and campaign money insurance and drug companies are giving congress. I dont even care if they are democrat or republican - they are all corrupted by capitalists. Theres your connection, please, dont get too tired trying to sell it to the public like ACORN, SEIU, Van Jones and the rest of the czars or any other fake scheme that beck or drudge comes up with.

Elect another Bush or any Repug, for that matter, and the crisis will be resolved.
