LIMBAUGH: I think that everybody is laughing. Our president is a worldwide joke. Folks, do you realize something has happened here that we all agree with the Taliban and Iran about and that is he doesn't deserve the award. Now that's hilarious, that I'm on the same side of something with the Taliban, and that we all are on the same side as the Taliban.

I assume that everyone has seen the movie "Face Off" with Travolta and Cage... the scene where Cage is given the drugs and begins to freak out quite a bit and the bald guy says "No more drugs for that man!"

Well... someone needs to take Rush's drugs away, if for any other reason, for his own safety! Because he is getting more delusional as each day passes.

Rush who are "We all"? I am not part of your group and you are afraid of peace. This is since peace reduces defense spending and that is toxic to you and your ilk.

Truth in this case is hard to judge.

Obama not deserving the award...well, that's a matter of perspective. The statement, as well as its opposite, can not be proved nor disproved since it is a matter of opinion.

You may see it as truth. I may see it as false. Marisa Tomei deserved her Oscar. She didn't deserve it. Truth has no real place in opinion.

It's true when you get an award for something you haven't actually done yet. Should I get an Oscar for best picture for a movie I haven't made yet? I'm thinking no.

This is an international award, so I'm not sure if we can provide the correct perspective as to why he got the award. From an international standpoint, he might be doing exactly what he is being rewarded for.

Now, Obama himself has said that he's not sure he deserves it, but that he will be accepting it on behalf of all Americans to do their part for a more peaceful world.

Again, who are we to judge? We're not on the committee. If anything, they ought to be the one explaining why he got the award.

He hasn't done anything for any of us yet. Oh wait, I take that back, he's increased our debt by a trillion dollars and failed to stop unemployment from rising above 8% like he promised the stimulus package would do. I know I'm impressed.

I thought this was an international award?

Yes, progress has been slow in getting America back on track, but what about America's standing in the international community? What about his pledge to make America more energy-conscious, more environmentally-conscious, more diplomatic towards other countries?

That's what the Peace Prize is about, stark. If it were an award to see how successful a country can be, then Republicans just might be winning the darn award every now and then.

Once again, it's not what he's doing for you. It's what he's doing for the world.

BTW, the committee was quite clear on why they chose him . . . can you not read? I know that their criteria has been posted here NUMEROUS times.

This isn't an American award . . . you should be pleased that our President is being seen as a POSITIVE influence on the world for a change. Just because you can't get past your silly "us v. them" crap doesn't mean that the folks in the international community has to share your hatred.

Sometimes I truly think stark is 15 years old. His 2 degrees are from elementary school and Jr. High.

Now, stark, if you really, really wanted to bring facts into this conversation about Obama's handling of the economy, you should have brought up how FHA/HUD is going down the path of insolvency like fannie mae/freddie mac.

That would be better than the nebulous debt argument (on which Nobel winning economist Krugman said we didn't spend enough) and the faulty unemployment argument because the most recent unemployment figures show improvement.

                        Don't you ever read?

ironic isnt it? All that talk about liberals not liking america and not being patriotic when we opposed a completely unwarranted war and now, they have no issues about saying lines like I hope obama fails and I aagree with the taliban. I never remember liberals hoping bush fails - I was hoping we didnt invade iraq and was hoping the tax cut bill didnt pass and i was annoyed that he vetoed SCHIP (which is a fantastic program) and i thought the PATRIOT act and torture had no place in America but i WASN'T anti-bush on every single issue like they are - I wanted to invade afghanistan, i liked the medicare extension, i supported the creation of homeland security department, i appreciated his support of israel and I liked that he signed an education reform bill that kennedy sponsored. I also liked that the administration seemed to commit to something once they said they would - something obama actually has yet to show

Limbaugh realizes (and thinks it is hilarious) that he finds himself on the same side as the Taliban and Iran('s leader).

This is actually not surprising, as his behavior is the opposite of the thoughtful, dedicated, reasoning processes that are required of great persons who seek and work for peace vs. those who merely continue conflict by means of endless derision.

Rush has seen himself in the mirror, if only for a moment, and realizes that he (and his ilk) truly are in the same class of persons (who most reasonable people would agree) who we could call 'the dangerously intolerant.'

Now I don't believe in censorship. I respect the right to speak one's mind (and that does not extend to shouting 'fire' in a crowded theater). I do not like the fact that high school publications can be censored by school administrators. All that being said--this guy and his right wing nut cronies need to be censored. I cannot remember in the last 50 years any President under attack for the lame reasons our President is attacked on a daily basis. This is the sad commentary that is going out worldwide. yea rush you and everyone that hasn't read a book in 10 years and listens to your show every day are with the taliban. So Rush is now advocating reinstalling segregation, was happy when we lost the olympics, has no interest in obama succeeding and wants him to fail and sympathisizes with the taliban. Was he also one of the advocates for secession last month as well? I wouldn't mind if just rush seceded. I think if someone asked rush if he wouldn't mind seeing the country go into a tailspin as long as obama was considered a failure - I dont think he would mind. I love how the right equated liberal's opposition to the war in Iraq as not being patriotic and against America even though we just didn't want to fight in a country that didnt actually do anything to warrant invading. Now that Obama is in office, limbaugh doesnt care if this country fails as long as obama goes down with it? That is some double standard he is touting.

It amazing me that in a country such as the USA, that Rush Limbaugh actually gets air time. This is a sad state of affairs.

This is hilarious. They had this wonderful talking point about how the world had rejected Obama and then this happens. I've been smiles all day watching these idiots try to find a way to spin this. Stick your hear to the right wing noise machine and you'll hear the friggin ocean. :)

Norman Goldman had a good point today. Rush et al have had a hard enough time delegitimizing Obama. Now they've got to try to delegitimize the entire Nobel committee. Their work is cut out for them.

Yeah, but they got a head start on that one when Al Gore also won the prize.

The neocons just can't get it through their thick skulls that you can't win a Nobel Peace Prize by bullying the international community and launching wars of aggression against countries who don't threaten you.

Wow! Rush is apologizing to the Taliban. The most Anti-American person now in this great country. Rush is pro-Taliban just to satisfy his agenda. Sounds like treason to me, Folks.

I think is's hilarious that Rush brings up the fact the Taliban hated this. It completely defeats the right's argument the Obama is soft on our enemies.

Not that it will register with the dittoheads.....

"I'm on the same side of something with the Taliban, and that we all are on the same side as the Taliban." ----Rush Limbaugh

No "we all", arent on the side with the Taliban. You and whoever listens and follow everything out of your hateful, sexist mouth maybe. Not me. Now way.

Again, another example of Limbaugh getting to use all the stuff he prepared a couple weeks ago when everyone thought Chicago was going to get the Olympics.

All this is the exact same stuff that could be said of Obama had Chicago gotten the Olympics.

What an embarassment to the USA Russ is...
In the past month I have visited England, Turkey and Russia on business. I am not saying those countries are a representative sample of Rush's "worldwide", but I can tell you that the subject of Obama came up constantly, and every single person I spoke to really likes him and is hopeful about what he will do for the world. They definitely do not consider him a "joke". Rush and his like need to check their "facts". Of course they won't do that....

The National Inquisition suggests "We are all on the side of the Taliban" should be the new Republican Party slogan. Can I get that printed on a T-shirt?

Rush begins, "I think..." A rational person would start to question their thinking when they discover their acknowledged and existential enemy shares those thoughts.

I don't find it hilarious, I find it pathetic, that el Rushbo would agree with people who would gladly see any American dead. Had that not sunk into his thought process before he said it? It obviously didn't bother the folks at FauxNoise, and young Starker didn't think about it.

Also, note how the Republicans chose to frame their position - what did he do in 2 weeks from his election. Starker is kind enough to demonstrate how easliy people succumbed to the framing without thinking of the deeper meeting.

The important actions were what he did over the prior 2+ years in running for office and persuading Americans that diplomacy could accomplish far more, and also demonstrating to the world that America wanted to lead the world in a new direction.

Again..Our favorite draft doging addict makes an idiot out of himself. It has occured to me, that he is probably the best thing that ever happened to the Liberal cause. Consider how many independents, or thinking republicans voted for Obama, simply because they believe Limbaugh represented the alternative. Keep flapping your gums fat boy..as long as you do there will always be a Dem in the white house
